I got blue jeans, shirts, and gift cards.

At least no under shreddies or socks, although I could have used some of each.

My wife and I both buy what we want usually when we want it throughout the year so at christmas, we're always out of ideas and options.

Nice Christmas for me too. Wife let me get a Casio PX5s keyboard. Wonderful keyboard, great sounds and weighs only 25 lbs. Happy New Year Everyone. Ray

Sweet Ray, very nice indeed.

(What sort of bucks? and does it have a weighted action?)

One of the reasons I bought it is because of the above test. I found it very hard to tell which piano is which. The Nord is around $3000.00 and the Casio is $999.98. I'm very satisfied with it. Ray

love ezkeys - if you want to make up keys for a band in a box song just go into preferences and there is a chord output setting - you turn it on then save as a midi then just split the chord output track to a single midi track file and save
now load it into ezkeys and you will have your chord track
you can now split it into section with the scissors
select the clip now click on browser midi and select one that fits
and click replace if you like it
hope this helps

I've owned a PX3 for several years, the predecessor to the PX5. I like the feel of the keys for piano on the PX much better than any other keyboard, even ones that cost 4X more!

Hey, thank you very much. This is good to be aware of. I have found some other work arounds - but the results have been a bit unexpected.

I may start a thread just about the topic of exporting midi from BIAB in order to get the Chord sheet. As we all know BIAB Musicians tend to take a lot of liberties with the chord chart. grin

I am loving EZKeys - but would love even more EZKeys 2? I know it is coming soon.... smile

Can you clarify. where exactly in preferences? and how does this work?

My problem is I can export out the midi track based on my chord chart from BIAB, but... BIAB creates the midi based on the style and many times the "chords" the midi plays are far more complex that the Chords I have typed in my Chord chart. As a result when the midi file is opened in EZKeys they are interpreted as different. I have tired to use a "simple" style, but if there is an easier way to get just the chords the are in the BIAB chart over to EZK with out retyping I would be very interested.

sorry just found this.
I went to preferences - output chords
then save the song as midi
open in real band and you will see bb chord output track
select the whole track and drag it to the mid drop station
drag it into ezkeys or a folder first
get the scissors and cut it at bar 3 (bar 1 in pg)
now cut it at say bar 7 (bar 5 pg)
back to the arrow tool and select the clip
now click on browser midi and select one that fits
and click replace if you like it
just cut and select the bars you want to put the ezk playing in

if ezkeys had a bar offset it would help, maybe you can suggest that in their forum

Hi Team
This thread seems to have gotten a little more "Off-Topic" than the actual Topic?
Maybe post in the BiaB for Windows forum - might get better attention?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
