Hi,
I upgraded from 10.5 to 2016. When I go to style picker page, I see everything, I can audition on that page but when I load it to the main page, all I get is midi drums even know everything is green in the instruments. (drums turn yellow after I hit play)

Sometimes I get a quick message that says can't find this and that. (is there a way to get the error messages to stay up longer?)

I let BIAB install everything where it wanted AND the real tracks work on songs I've already put together but anything new it keeps saying can't find real track files for most of the songs.

Other times it loads everything in, all instruments are green, I hit play and I get a count in and then no sound on any of the instruments.

Thanks

Gary,

What package did you upgrade to? It might be that your particular package does not have the Realdrums for every style.

Noel

Hi
I got the $79 upgrade. For example the song style I picked was Ticket to Ride...it says there was one style but when it loads there is no sound on any green instruments except the midi drums. When I hit play, I can see all the sounds march through their number crunching ready to play.

Yes, I can see that I don't have the real tracks for that style. Which is disappointing.

I set a filter so I could see what I have. What I'm experiencing is every time I do a search for a familiar song title it throws out my filter. Gives me a list of what I have and what I don't have.

Is it back to the old way of just hunting and pecking for a style or can you keep the filter in place somehow during a search for a song title?

Couldn't it just say after a search that nothing is found?

Thanks

Gary,

The fact that Stylepicker gives some choices means that you have a really good starting place for customising a backing. After loading the recommended style, it's very easy to replace midi tracks with Realtracks. Just click on the top of the 'tempo' column when in Realtrack picker and it will sort the tracks by tempo. Then, scroll to around the song's tempo and look at what options you have available. Midi drums can also easily be replaced with Realdrums.

When December rolls around this year, you should have a look at the specials PG Music offer for upgrading. It's possible that you might get the UltraPlusPak (contains all styles, Realtracks and Realdrums) at a really good price. Often there are great deals to be had. Then nothing would be missing.

Regards,
Noel

Hi,

A tech at PG pointed out that I may not have all my styles from 10.5. I thought everything from the USB 10.5 drive was in the correct place on my desktop but evidently they were not.

The size of my real tracks folder on the USB drive was several gigs more than my desktop. So I dragged all the BIAB files over on top of 2016. Then reinstalled 2016 again.

Now I have a lot of the Beatle songs! And I can build from midi what I don't have.

Thanks

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
