I want to add accompaniment to a previously recorded audio track. I loaded the audio and then loaded Real Tracks to 3 other tracks. My problem is that the Real Tracks does not start at the same time as the recorded audio track. Its about 3/4 of a measure differance. The recorded audio track starts first. Is there a way to line the tracks up in PT ,RB, or BIAB? I dont believe this is a latentcy issue. It seems as if it is due to the way the audio was recorded.
Thanks, 1926

Highlite one of the late tracks, hold ctrl and click/drag the track to where you want it
Or copy/paste it where you want it

Or use the ACW and regenerate the realtracks..

The ACW is the key to that..(Audio Chord Wizaed does much more than just chords - it's a VERY powerful tool))

Open the ACW with the file loaded (after erasing the realtracks that don't line up)
Then play the song inside the ACW and reset the barlines. This is done by tapping F8 key on the first beat of every measure. (Sometimes you don't have to do this step as the ACW automagically determines the correct bars and tempo) The ACW will calcuate the tempo map as you do this and create new measures.

Then, before closing it, go to the first bar of the song (where the audio starts) and right click to make this "bar one" of the song.. then play it once more to make sure the tempo is matching up OK. Tap F8 again if necessary. Often tapping it a couple times on the first beat of a couple measures is enough for the ACW to figure out the rest of the song. Then you can export it back to RB and the new tempo map and bar markers will be rewritten.

After that the realtracks should be able to be generated in time.

.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Boy Im having a tough time with this. I think part of my problem is I have a 2 beat intro on my music audio and cant seem to determine where the first measure starts. I guess the the program chords should start after the 2 beats of intro?Would that be the start of the first measure,or 2 beats before the intro? In other words is the intro part of the first measure?

O.K.
Things are going good. I was able to get the files lined up along with correct tempo etc. Only thing I dont like is the Real Track bass file is playing in double time.
8 notes per measure as opposed to 4 . Is this a tempo issue? Real Tracks file recommended tempo is around 130. My audio file is about 200.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for the previous help rharv!!

O.K. I figured out it was a time signature issue.
I still am hearing timing issues ,even with everything lined up.
I suspect it would be easier to lay down an audio track to generated Real Track files than to try and line up the files to an existing recorded audio track which had been recorded with a band scratch track minus a metronome or computer generated click.
Im learning!!
Thanks folks.

In the ACW is a chance to change the tempo to half speed or double speed...
i believe it is a right click option.

I've said it a few times before; the ACW is a very powerful tool. Learning to use it can salvage a lot of recordings..

I'd make a video with tips, but the best I could do currently is actually film the screen while doing it... and that usually doesn't turn out too well. I need to find one of those programs that captures the screen actions.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
