I used to have as favorite 2 guitar songs (and styles) from 2016 answering to the cosy name of _SNGWDUO and _LITEPOP using 2 real tracks of picked guitar RT number 2552 and 2553. In BiaB 2017, RT 2553 has been "changed" to an "horrible" held chord and the demo is completely changed compared to the original version. How can I come back to the original picked guitar version? (which is the one you hear when you select it to listen to within the Real track picker). Bernard
First, are you up-to-date on the latest patch to RealTracks? Click on the gray Support tab near the top of this page.
Several errors have been reported on specific tracks, and a patch is coming. One common one was hearing a banjo where a guitar should be playing. If that's what you mean by "horrible", then I understand. Otherwise, you might define a little better what horrible means in your case. If you are sure you are hearing the wrong instrument in one of the tracks, send an email to support@pgmusic.com and reference this thread.
If "horrible" is something else, please elaborate.

OK, sorry for not beeing able to explain clearly... The RTs 2552 and 2553 are finger picked guitars and they sound as they should when hearing them within the Real Track picker. But once they are used under the demos I mentioned one (2552) sounds ok when the other one (2553) does not sound as a picked guitar but as a guitar playing one held chord per bar and is too loud. Using the RT 2553 in an other song brings the same result. Please load the Style _SNGWDUO in your BiaB 2017 and tell me whether it sounds like 2 picked guitars. And yes, I have the latest patch. Bernard
I probably don't have those RealTracks (long story) but you have good detail here to send that report directly to Support, as I mentioned above. I'm betting it's a quick fix by a patch. It's unfortunate for you right now but not unheard of after a new release.
Other forum members who use finger-picked guitar, can you test this?

Yes I can confirm this. 2552 plays as it should but 2553 plays a held chord every bar there is a chord change. If no chord change it will again play a held strum after four bars.

So, I have now solved the problem of the "held chord" concerning Real Track no playing fingerpicking (as it should) but held chords instead...
Under Song Edit/form/settings, I unchecked "Allow RTs shot, hold & push" and everything is "back to normal" and nice fingerpicking business.
Checking this option comes back automatically when playing the song new. So I had to save the version with fingerpicking RT 2553 as well as all other songs containing this RT. Bernard
That RT, #2553, was always set to play "Held" chords all the time (by mistake - this is a setting we can easily change).
But we didn't supply the 'holds' for that style until our recent patch which added the helds. So previously it was a case of two-wrongs-DO-make-a-right and the RT worked correctly.
We will fix it in the next patch. In the meantime, the workaround for that RT is as you recommended, to disable the holds for that song.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
