Not sure if this is the right place to post this, and if not, I apologise.
Does anyone have Louis Bonfa's Bandolero (sometimes spelled Bandolera)
in Band in a box format? Otherwise, just the chord sequence will do.

Thanks in advance

Hi Mike

Having trouble locating Luiz Bonfa with Bandolero

Could it be the "trad" melody or the version by Jerry Goldsmith

I've got at leat one Luis Bonfa's albums on CD. I don't know the tune Bandolero.
Could it be "Sambolero" you are looking for?

Hi
Thanks for your post.
Here's a recording of Bandolero, with Stan Geta and Louis Bonfa:

Mike,

There are a number of websites that will extract audio from a Youtube link and save it as WAV or MP3.

Once you have that, it will be possible to run the audio through ACW (Audio Chord Wizard) in BIAB or RB and that will help identify many chords.

Just a thought.

Regards,
Noel

Mike, now I'm confused more than ever.

You initially mentioned you were looking for Bandolero

I asked was the song really Sambalero?

You then mentioned: "Here's a recording of Bandolero," and provided a link.

And when I clicked on the link you sent, it clearly showed a song with the title "Sambolero"

Either my eyes or my ears are deceiving me...

Is it Sambalero or Bandolero you are looking for?

By the way, Mike, as long as you do it within a day or two of posting, you can go back and edit your posts to correct any typos. Just click the Edit button to do so.

There is even a checkmark to have the post indicate whether edited or not (I usually don't check it when I find a typo shortly after posting, but do check it when I've made any substantial changes to the post).

Thanks for all the replies
It would appear that I have made a mistake, and the correct title is Sambalero. Apologies for the confusion...looks like the song has two titles.

So, does anyone have Sambalero ?

Mike, I remember the tune, and I have that album stored away; I'll look for sheet music.

Getz: oh, yes. I try to emulate his sound when I play tenor.

Ok, after a thorough search, I haven't found sheet music for this.

One wrinkle, the song appears to be spelled sambolero sometimes, and other times sambalero.

The correct name is Sambolero (meaning a blend of samba and bolero).

Yes, that's clear; seems to depend on who records it. When I get home I'll look at those chords. I did find a few such pages where the chords bore no resemblance to the tune.

OK, thanks for clarifying. I had a search through the 5,000 or so charts that I have but didn't turn that one up, sorry.

Mike, I found a guitar sheet music version that I made into two JPG files for page 1 and page 2. You can easily deduce the chords from modestly studying it. It is very close to the Carlos Barbosa-Lima version in the video posted by Lt. Kojak. You'll have to account for the modulations and the bossa = 140 tempo.

Send me a PM with your email address.

Pepe, that link is a totally different song than what Mike requested. But you're right about Joao Donato. I perform many of his songs. Always happy music.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
