I'm a new user.

I put some 12 lines or so of song chords into the boxes. Played the song with the style I chose.

Then I added three other lines, immediately below the others.

Then played it again with the same style of course.

But BIAB only plays the style music over the original chords, it doesn't continue over the chord progressions of the additional three lines?

What do I do?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you need to change the number in the Bar for End of Chorus.

Near the place where you see the tempo, there will be three numbers. I can be more specific if you tell us which version of BIAB you have. The first is the beginning of the chorus, the second is the end of the chorus, and the third is the number of times it plays the chorus. You can see these descriptions when you hover your mouse over the numbers. The numbers will be 1, 32, 3 by default. It sounds like you need to change the 32 to something longer, like 44.

Let us know if this doesn't solve the problem.

Thanks. I have 2017 BIAB.

I tried extending the number from the window at the top. It extended and made room for the additions, but still the accompaniment didn't play over those chords. Don't know if it's a glitch.

Try this:

Sounds like the tracks are frozen. You need to be sure you re-gen for the new arrangement. This used to be a bit more automatic but I have noticed sometimes you need to hit the re-gen play.

Adding more chords would normally make BIAB regenerate automatically even when pressing Play, but try anyway.

If you froze the tracks, unfreeze them.

I have same problem biab 2017 462 only the drums play in the extra bar. same song ok in 2016 438. this problem exaggerates when using song format aabbcc etc especially if a mixture of4 & 2 beats in a 4/4 song. have requested technical support yesterday. Bar numbers are correct.

Are you able to advise how many bars you entered data in, and then how many additional bars?

12 lines is probably 48 bars, and 3 extra lines is probably a total of 60 bars.

If you didn't change the number of bars in the song as the others have mentioned, then it would most likely default to 32 bars, meaning a repeat after 32 bars and before the 48/60 bars completed.

Welcome also to the forums.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
