Hi Peter et al,
I know these things have been asked for before but as they haven't been addressed, deserve another mention. They shouldn't be such a big deal to implement and in my estimation would greatly enhance the user experience.
1. Please enable scrolling on a mouse or track pad. — This is now standard fair with most Mac & PC programs so most users will attempt this action first automatically only to find it doesn't work and then have to click on the arrows or scroll bar itself. It's a constant irritation.
2. Please, PLEASE fix that damn lyrics window from obscuring important functions and information. — I don't want to get rid of the lyrics on a BIAB tune just to prevent this from happening. Surely there must be an easy way to implement some sort of toggle for viewing or not viewing lyrics.
3. Also on my wish list... a user defined toolbar. Do we really need all those distracting icons (most of which we rarely use) cluttering up the interface?
4. And finally a full screen notation window so we can finally see the entire lead sheet like our Windows counterparts.
On a positive note... it's an amazing program. I can only imagine what it might be like when the user experience and interface catches up to the incredible features on offer.
Keep up the good work and please consider some these improvements in your next patch.
Cheers, Jack

I agree and would welcome all of the above. Also would like to know which chorus is playing.
Love the program.

+1
Also, the size of the scrollbar doesn't reflect the size of the visible portion.

I agree with all of the above. And have a couple other additions:
In the Edit window for any harmony there is a 'Test Chord' list of chords which do not work. It would be useful if they did.
After launching the program the selections in the 'Core MIDI (choose ports)' are those from the last time the program was used (as they should be), but they are not active until this dialog is opened and 'OK' is selected. It would be nice if this activation step was not necessary.

I don't have seen this problem. Does it always happen or only when changing the configuration (eg. plug/unplug a device)? Can you give an example to reproduce?

This happens each time I launch BIAB without changing anything. It may have something to do with my configuration, so I will describe that. Of course all external hardware is powered up before launching BIAB.
Input is a USB keyboard. This is sort of active on launch in that keystrokes from it show on the BIAB piano keyboard, but no sound is heard. Output is to either of 2 external (USB) sound modules, with outputs going through a mixer into the Mac line input. My statement that the default port choices shown are as last used is incorrect. All BIAB channels show the same sound module as defaults but they are not active without hitting the OK button. Once that is done, whether or not changes have been made in port selection, the output is connected and operating as indicated. Attempting to play a song with MIDI content will also yield no audio without OKing the sound module selections.
If this problem is unique to my system I would certainly welcome suggestions.

jazzmac,
does the problem occur also, if you have running BIAB correctly, and then just quit and relaunch BIAB while leaving all external hardware powered on?
If yes, it's obviously a flaw with BIAB's port management.

Yes, every time I launch BIAB.

Then I'd call it a bug. Maybe the dynamic creation of BIAB's virtual port is messing up the port selections of external hardware. Personally I'm using only IAC ports, without any problems.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
