Howard, sorry to hear about this, especially on our Thanksgiving weekend. Hopefully memories of good times will flood you with happiness.

I've started dictating stories and events into a a small recorder to be typed up later by my daughter, those things that contributed to my evolution from a marxist hippie teenager to a Canadian conservative. Probably bore someone out of their mind but she asked for it. And it seems important to all 5 kids for some reason.

I hope the Great Architect of the Universe is with you during your stay.

Howard,

Anything I have to say seems ridiculously inadequate at a time like this. Folks tell me this is just the beginning of an amazing experience. Here's hoping they are right.

Howard,

Although we have never met face to face the kindness and warm considerate feeling that comes through in your posts make me feel we are old friends. With this said I am not too far away to run an errand or two for you guys if you should need some assistance. I would have no problem with driving your way if I can be of any assistance.

Until then as others have mentioned I too am praying for that miracle and for the good Lord to comfort you and your family in this time of need.

My God Bless.

Howard, you are such a mainstay of this community and I enjoy very much your wonderful steel guitar playing. My thoughts are with you in these times - keep the spirits up. Remember, each constituent of ourselves once was part of a star.

Howard,

I don't post much but consistently browse the PG forums, esp this one.

Although we have of course never met, I too would like to add my sincere best wishes for you in this hour of need. I am very glad that you have found a bunch of real mates here who obviously and genuinely care for you, and will be lifting you up before our heavenly father as you face this heavy time. It is still a minor miracle in my eyes that so many of the forum posters here are men and women of God- I sometimes get the impression that PG products are the Christians audio software, and Peter's comments above do nothing to dispel that impression.
(In fact, I think of the same when I consider the legend of Crown amplification- apparently founded by a guy who wanted to facilitate beach mission preaching. And what a success they have been!)

My unsaved brother in law has just this week been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas. And I have just come this evening from spending time, as I do on a Sunday night, with my elderly Dad (he's almost 88). Dad and I always end our evening with a few minutes of prayer for our family. I am going to call him tomorrow and specifically raise your situation so we can pray for you together. I promise to keep doing that.

Do stay in touch with us all. Clearly, your contributions to this forum have earned you the love and respect of this august body of audio and musical achievers. Count me in to that group who want to assist you in any way we can. However, I'm on the other side of the Pacific so dropping by with a casserole might be problematic. But I can at least keep on lifting you up before the Father of Lights.

With every good wish, friend.

John

Howard,
My prayers are with you also and miracles do happen. I've seen a few spontaneous remissions ( other friends in our support group) when my wife was battling breast cancer for the second time. She was given less then 3 years to live. That was in 1997. She's still here!
Whatever the out come the Lord will guide you and you family through it.

I've been thinking of you often the last few days and trying to find words to say. You have always been kind in your thoughts and actions and I'm sure we are all be enriched by what you have given us of yourself and look forward to sharing any thoughts you feel like sending our way in the future. We recently lost my wife's aunt who spent a year and a half in hospice care nearby and it was a time rich in closeness with her family. The one thought that comes most clearly to my mind is that it is so hard to put our feelings into words because we all know that life ends and that many of us are not far behind you. Who even knows what tomorrow will bring. I'm not a very religious person but I wish for you this blessing that you are rich in faith and hope and greatest of all in love.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
