Hi
I open a tune in real with real tracks
I play along with it having clicked the reb button 'R.Aud' having checked the appropriate settings
I press stop
I'm asked if I want to keep the take and click 'OK-Keep take'
What do I have to do to save the original BB tune along with my playing as a WAV file?
Simply click the '.WAV' button and follow the instructions?
Or play the tune and listen to my playing and then click '.WAV'
Or something else?
It's just that sometimes I end up with two WAV files, sometimes without one at all.
Thanks
Hugh

Hi Hugh,
I take it that you are using Realband to record. If my assumption is correct, all you need to do is to save the file. Realband will ask you if you want to overwrite the file. This is safe because Realband doesn't write the same files as BIAB. While Realband reads BIAB files, when it saves the file it uses an SEQ format. If you want, though, you can always use "Save As" and then rename the file when you save it using Realband.

Hi Noel
Actually, I'm using Biab - perhaps as you suggest it would be more straightforward to use Real Band - I haven't played with it much yet.
I'll try it out as you say above - am I right in expecting saving in WAV to be a simple matter?
Thanks
Hugh

In realband you can save all the tracks as a seq file (including the wav audio) or you can export a track to a wav file or you can merge all the tracks to one wav file ..
much more suited to what you are trying to do, in my opinion.
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Hi Hugh, From what I understand of your question, it would be worth your while playing around with Realband. It's not that difficult to use and the tutorial video is excellent. Here is the link for the tutorial video. I use BIAB and RB in tandem in the following way. - Create a song in BIAB (that is, find a style, set a chord progression, etc.).
- Take a note of the panning and volume for each instrument in BIAB.
- Save the song and then open up the BIAB file in RB. (It could take a while to open the file because RB immediately generates the tracks.)
- In the TRACKS VIEW, left click on the panning slider of each instrument and set the panning that was in BIAB. Do the same for volume using the volume sliders. The RB file should now sound like it did in BIAB. (Note: RB does not read the BIAB instrument setting. These need manually setting. It only takes 5 mins maximum.)
- Save the song as an RB SEQ file.
Now that the file is in RB, it's very easy to record MIDI or audio tracks and save the tracks to a single rendered wav file or individual wav files. Good luck, Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
