I just reinstalled BIAB/RealBand 2018. (The PC was brought back from the dead.)
Anyhow, it's been quite awhile (and I USED to know) but I forgot what to click on so that I can see guitar TABLATURE for the guitar solos that are played. Clicking around I can get to see STANDARD MUSICAL NOTATION but I can't figure out how to change to guitar TABLATURE.

Hi Deacon. I really enjoyed your video and it's very informative and easy to follow. Every year I tell myself "this is the year I'll take advantage of the teaching aspect and tools in BIAB". So far, each 'launch' has sputtered.
Your excellent tutorial may be that extra bit of fuel to help me finally commit. I'm surely going to check out a few songs using your tab method.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Charlie!
TBH, I've been meaning to record a number of videos/tutorials on using MIDI and various VST(i)s in BiaB. I even have a bit of extra time to do so lately, but the problem with the hanging/sustained MIDI notes have been so persistent, I unfortunately had to shelve the idea until it gets fixed because I have to reboot the program a couple of track generations (or even pause-plays) in, and it became too much of a hassle to reset all my patches and whatnot 2 minutes into the tutorial recordings. :-(
(It's a real shame, because I've posted about this issue in the forums before, and it was never addressed by PGM, let alone rectified...oh well, maybe it will have magically resolved itself in BiaB 2020...)

I have found that all of my hung notes were caused by anything running in the background. If I disable my Ethernet card, shut down Defender, anti-malwarebytes and cCleaner then all is good.
When my computer was off-line I didn't have any of those programs installed. But now that virtually all of my music and photographic software need to be on-line for registration, verification and for upgrades I need to be protected.
I want my last spoken words to be "I hid a million dollars under the........................"

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
