I'll never forget old what's his name!

Seriously, you have been a wonderful and loyal friend, Mario. Thank you.

I'll continue working back stage as long as I am physically and mentally able. That has kept me going for several years. Thank you Peter, Callie, and your wonderful crew.

Don, do not forget that you are the initiator and instigator of the largest thread ever seen in the off-topic forum. So long and large that it had to be shut down as it consumed more server space than available. You made your mark here my friend and we will not forget you until we all exit the stage also.

Here are the words of Dylan, not your Bobby, but the other guy. I hope these words provide comfort and peace in your days ahead.

Do not go gentle into that good night - Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Don, you and I may have nothing musical in common, yet I have always regarded you as a friend through this forum. Bless you for all the help and inspiration you have given others. Let your final time be relaxed and pain-free, if that's involved in your case. The Forum is sadder tonight.

Very sad news Don. You've always been a great influence on the forum.

You've always been one of the few people on the forum that was already familiar and following the acoustic and bluegrass artists I would mention.

Please stay in touch as long as you can. I'm already missing you old friend.

I love you man.

Don. Thank you thank you thank you for everything you have done for me over the last 8 years. You will always be remembered so fondly.

I will never forget driving up to your nursing home and seeing you sitting in the gazebo waiting for me to arrive.

Your friendship will be sorely missed.

Don,

Thank you for letting everyone here know.

Though we have never personally met, you sir, have had a profound effect on my life.

You have popped into my thoughts often, when I needed to summon courage or grace. Or when I needed more of a sense of humor to handle some piddling little problem that seemed insurmountable to me.

No question in my mind: you will have that role for me for the rest of my life.

I do not think I am at in any way unique in this. I figure there are people all over the world that you have touched with your presence. That's quite a legacy if you think about it!

Don, I hope your passing is gentle and peaceful. I'm praying for you and for your family.

And, as I have done often in the past, I'm thanking the Lord for your influence on my life.

Hi, Don.

Sorry to hear you're heading off the stage. frown

You're the guy who got me started on my singing synthesis program in the first place... Back in 2013! I'm sorry that I wasn't able to make something useful for you.

Safe travels!

Dear Don,

I was so saddened to read your opening post and then read through this thread.

I've known you for a long time on these forums. Without exception, you are the most inspirational person that I have ever encountered. Your ability to overcome immense hurdles, and the way you fearlessly face life smiling have been powerful influences on how I see the world.

More than anyone I know, you've shown me how to look at life as a wonderful gift and how to take the IMPOSSIBLE, and turn it on its head to become I'M POSSIBLE.

For the rest of my life, I will be forever grateful to you.

I honestly don't know what to say. I would like you know, though, I really am feeling a profound sadness as I type this.

A couple of years ago, I came across the below words written by Mary Frye back in the 1930s. An Irish work colleague tells me that this poem is very popular in Ireland. When I heard this, I knew that I had to pass it on to you. I sincerely hope that the words bring you a smile and many peaceful thoughts.

May hope and freedom forever be with you,
Noel

Don, my old friend.

This news makes me sadder than you can imagine.

I'll always treasure your friendship and the music which we've
produced together over the years.

Thank you for being my inspiration when I felt down and for the
good times that we've shared.

Donny, your first (available) post on the current forum, from September 12, 2008:

Quote:
THE RT INSTRUMENTS ALL SEEM TO END ABRUPTLY. PLEASE GIVE US A MEANS TO SUSTAIN THEM.
THANKS

Yes, I wish now more than ever that this could be delivered.
Darn it, I haven't ever even met you and I'm saddened and sharing the emotion. But you're family.
You faced every challenge head on, taking it on the chin, never complaining once.
Peace and happiness, Donny.

Don, saddened to hear and read your post, I have always enjoyed reading your threads on the forum and the inspiration you have shown to us all.

For all that I sincerely thank you, and for your music as well, no one can sing "Steel Rail Blues" better than Don Gaynor.

From one oul Irishman to Another, hang in there, you sure ain't gone yet, sure all any of us can do is take it one day at a time.

Best Wishes.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
