Hi,
latest BIAB version, latest updates.

When I looked at _RUFFLED style (I was looking for a "Killing Floor" type style), the drums appear as N/A.

Interestingly, the drum file which exists and is referenced correctly in other styles is "BluesRockFunky16ths^3-HHSnr,RdSnB" - whereas in the _RUFFLED style error message it appears with one less H as **N/A** BluesRockFunky16ths^3-HSnr,RdSnB.

so -HSnr instead of the correct -HHSnr

I downloaded the latest RT338 file from the website, installed it, rebuild the styles - still, same problem.

No big drama, I can manually assign the drums, but I'd prefer not to have any **N/A** style error messages.

Any advice?

Many thanks, Paul

In the RealDrums Picker, select Clear, then select Show RD's that are N/A.

Does that RealDrums style appear in the produced list?

Thanks for the replies, my drum picker screens are identical to yours.

Here is what I see in the Style Picker dialog:

You can see in the error message that the drum style only has one H: "RD: ** N/A ** BluesRockFunky16ths^3-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Busy Snare, Ride :Shannon Forrest"

whereas in the Drum Picker dialog, it has 2 Hs : -HHSnr

Something somewhere doesn't quite work here....

I have no (drum) styles missing, but the _RUFFLES definition seems to be incorrect as it can't find the existing drum style. I already re-installed RT388, rebuild everything a couple of times..

Cheers, Paul

Hello Paul,

Thank you for the screenshots. The third variation only has one H:

This is from RT set 157. The other variations have two H's so perhaps the other styles you are seeing are using the other variations... Perhaps you could reinstall that RT set and I think that should fix it.

Hi Andrew,

thanks for your help. I re-downloaded realtracks155-159.exe and immediately noticed that the size was different to the 2020 version (which I downloaded in Dec 2019 when I upgraded to BIAB 2020).

The problem has now disappeared and the drum tracks match the ones in your screenshot :-)

This is interesting. I updated all RT files when I upgraded to BIAB 2020 in Dec 2019, and in Dec 2020 (last month) I only downloaded the new RT files. I have diligently downloaded and installed every single patch (I check the website pretty much every day for updates), so I am somewhat puzzled that these changes hadn't been part of any of the updates.

Does this mean that I need to download every single RT file (all 100+ GBs) again as part of the BIAB 2021 upgrade process?

Cheers, Paul

As far as I can see, there hasn't been any change to BluesFunky16ths since 2012, so I don't really have an explanation for that. If it HAS been that long since you installed the RealTracks files, then yes I would recommend downloading them all at some point. But if as you said you downloaded them last year, installed the regular patches and so on, that would be fine.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
