Hi,
could I please ask you check this for me. Since #825 - or perhaps since I did a RTFS - I started to notice that when I loaded a song, changed the style, played it and then quit BIAB, it no longer prompted me to ask if I wanted to save the changed song.
I don't have any older versions available, and I am under the impression that previously BIAB would prompt me to save the song. It still does it occasionally but not under the most simply scenario when I: - open song - change style - re-generate song - play - change speed - play - exit (no prompt)
I also looked for any check boxes that might have gotten reset when I recently did a RTFS but couldn't find anything asking me to 'prompt to save song on exit' or similar.
Thanks for your help. Paul

Hi bloos66
I can confirm the problem.
Seems like the same issue I had in this post: Audio Edit: Bug #2 - BIAB deletes your audio file [Resolved]
cheers Thomas
On the latest Win version

Unfortunately, it's always been this way. Changing a Style does not trigger the 'song has changed' flag.
It's been reported many times.

Yes but changing the speed should, shouldn't it VT? I think you overlooked that.

Any change is a change, nothing less. I know this has also been reported to the developers in Beta testing.

I've gone ahead and made a report/request to the developers so they can take a look at it and see what can be done. Thank you!
Cheers, Ember

My opinion is the same as VideoTrack, that any change to the song should require a save. Otherwise, how do you know what you have when you open a song.

BiaB is different than many programs, in that a lot the time people are just loading demo songs (or other premade songs), changing styles etc. until they find something they like. Ie “just having fun, messing around”. We once had a style change or a tempo change trigger the prompt, and people complained that it was coming up too much. All they did was load a demo song, change the tempo, then a prompt showed up when they tried to load another one. I also found it annoying, and questioned whether anything had changed, and sure enough, I’d increased the song tempo by 5 before I loaded another demo song. Having said that, we could add an option for this for those who don’t mind the extra prompts, so that these small changes will trigger prompts

As nearly always with these questions, there’s another perfectly good way to look at it. Thanks Peter for sharing your reasoning.
As a composer, I would set such an option so that if anything at all changed, no matter how small, I want the prompt to save the song. Thanks for considering making this a setting.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
