I would like pg support to be a bit more active responding to emails.
My experience with pg support has not been a good one.

Sometimes i get a response (usually the "are you using latest build, or are you running as admin etc) then after my reply, iget nothing and im left in the lurch.

yes, i know some pg users will have had no problems with support but im pretty sure im not the only one who has suffered and left hanging not knowing if my problem has been looked into.

heres link to a thread that would help, there are a few threads here and there requesting a bug/issue report thread type of thing.

Native instruments took 5 days to reply, that was a a pre-sale (!) question that I had... Following question took even longer.

Not saying PG support is the greatest, but you have Live Chat, phone support and senior members on the forum, that know program pretty well and usually someone will respond within a few hours if not sooner. With new release out, I think they (PG staff) are a bit backlogged.

Did you try posting your issue here?...well not here (wishlist) but actually in the corresponding Windows / Mac /Plugin section?

P.S. you mentioned recent post on bug reporting. JJJ had a very reasonable idea, which I think should be very easy to achieve.

This is a user forum, for users, like you and me and the rest of us.

PG Music have separate direct support channels, Live help, Chat, and email support. Perhaps more than most.

When a wish-list suggestion is made, it can be endorsed(supported) by the forum users, but only the company can ultimately decide whether or not to embrace the idea.

To label your dissatisfaction of existing support as 'rubbish' may not actually be helpful, but you are free to express your view on such matters, as I am sure others will in response to this reply.

One thing to think of is that many other audio software products have almost no support other than support tickets. Take for example a major player like Presonus Studio one. Open a support ticket and in a few days you will get an email answer. Need more information open it again. No phone support, not chat line. For the most part you get forum support.

Here you get all that. I wouldn’t call that rubbish.

Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

Quite a few people speak highly of live chat.
I've used it only once but had received good quick answer.

I agree with Gordon. I have found Live Chat to be very helpful and responsive.

[this is a response to the original post in this thread]
I disagree - I always get either a solution, a useable (though not perfect) workaround or a no (which is also an answer). Off course it is disappointing, when one of my problems won't get solved to my wish, but no companies in the world have endless resources.

Since I was one of the users in 2018 who complained about the whole support approach to BIAB for Mac and the lack of bug fixes, PG Music actually listened to the complaints and improved their support towards the product.

Compared to Apple, Waves, iZotope, Yamaha and Line 6 which are my other main suppliers - I would claim that PG Music deliver the most prompt and timely support. Not perfect - but at least it's just about what I expect from a company of that size.

If you have a photographic memory or you are a master chess champion then you can probably remember all the settings you make in all the subterranean layers of BiaB and you can dive into them to make productions. It's powerful, but once you get beyond entering chords and choosing styles, it's a bit like exploring caves in my opinion. I use it only to quickly sketch a song foundation, then I leave BiaB. What is beautiful about RealBand is how visually oriented it is. 1. It loads your BiaB song 'sketch' seamlessly. 2. After just learning a few basic mouse and menu selections (very similar to what you are trying to do in BiaB) you see your song begin to take shape more easily (visually). Less crawling around in caves trying to remember routes taken.

I rate my mind 'average to fading'. If you're like me, try opening your BiaB sketch (SGU) in Realband (File, Open .... seamlessly) and I think you'll see a less frustrating world. I use the Forum to solve problems. I haven't posted much since 2011, but I have searched this Forum often and found it to be the best 'immediate answer' resource anywhere when it comes to BiaB/RB and compatibility with hardware and other software apps.

Songwriter, not Singer-Songwriter. Dropped singing in time to save a few friends and pets. RealBand user since 2011. Little known fact... 1 million people live in Nova Scotia. Of those, 1.5 million are musicians. Website: www.songmaker.ca

Just checking, are you aware of Options, Save Preferences? This is something you can (and should) do, and then Options, Open Preferences any time you need to recover your settings (for example, after running into a problem and doing a Return to Factory Settings). And even that command now gives you a chance to Save your preferences first.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
