Hvis man vil bruge sin computer til musik er det ikke særlig godt at bruge computerens indbyggede lydkort. De er for det første af en meget ringe kvalitet og for det andet bruger de som regel MME drivere, som giver stor latency (forsinkelse), - dvs. at det bliver meget svært at indspille melodi eller sang. For at mindske latency skal man bruge ASIO drivere. For at få fuld glæde af Band-in-a-Box skal man have et lydkort/audiomodul. De findes i alle prisklasser fra 500 kr og op til mange tusinde kroner. Med disse lydkort medfølger som regel ASIO drivere. For at afspille MIDI lyd skal man have en synthesizer. Det kan enten være et hardware modul eller en softwaresynth. Band-in-a-Box leveres med en software syntesizer Coyte wavetable synth, som er ganske brugbar.
En software synth er at foretrække, da den er nødvendig, hvis man vil rendere sine MIDI spor til audio. Gode højtalere eller tilslutning til stereoanlægget er også en fordel. Aktive højtalere (højtalere med indbygget forstærker) kan anbefales.

Hej Lindberg.
Jeg har på et tidspunkt købt et USB lydkort til min computer. Hvordan finder jeg ud af om jeg kan køre ASIO på det? Har prøvet at indsynge via mikrofon og PC lydkort. Det var skrækkeligt. Jeg har en rigtig god digital mikrofon. Kan jeg indsynge på den og så lægge lydfilen ind i sangen på BIAB?

Jeg er nødt til at vide hvilket lydkort, der er tale om for at kunne hjælpe. Hvis det er et USB lydkort, er det højst sansynligt, at der er en ASIO driver med, - hvis ikke, kan man ofte bruge ASIO4all. Du finder det her: http://www.asio4all.com/ Citat:

Ja, hvis man bruger PC'ens indbyggede lydkort lyder det ikke godt.
Band-in-a-Box har et audiospor, hvor du kan indsynge (eller spille et instrument), men jeg vil anbefale, at du bruger RealBand (som jo ganske gratis følger med BIAB), hvis du vil indspille audio, da der her er mulighed for mange audiospor.

Det er en creative THX tru studio pro, model SB 1290.
Med den fik jeg en ok optagelse med record audio. real track optagelse er jeg vist ikke kommet til endnu.

Jeg søgte på nettet, men kunne ikke finde ud af om din model understøtter ASIO. Det er jo først og fremmest et modul beregne til spil. Prøv at hente ASIO4all, som understøtter mange lydkort, som ikke har egen ASIO driver.

Hej Lindbjerg.
Har fået downloadet asio 4 all og det virker således at jeg kan vælge den under options. Men nu fungerer mit usb lydkort ikke når jeg bruger BIAB. Det fungerer når jeg ikke har BIAB tilsluttet. Mangler jeg noget i min set up af Asio?

Jeg har ikke kunnet finde ud af, om dit lydkort kan bruge ASIO. Der er noget der tyder på at det ikke er tilfældet, da det, som før nævnt, er et udpræget "gamer" kort og ikke direkte beregnet til musikproduktion.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
