First we have had bit over 12" of rain the last 10 days. Over 5 1/2 in about 30 hours. This song is the one that had melody shifting into the intro area. Finally figured out how to fix, pretty strait forward actually. If there is more interest will do the short writeup. This is country boogie Realstyle. Melody is Violin backup track, but thought it was decent. Solo which came out decent after about 20 passes is Brent our friend. Created to be specifically good dance music. http://www.mp3cloud.mobi/RainyDayBoogie.mp3Working into my lunch hour, so gotta go. Later

Sounds pretty darn good Frank. I know you struggled with this one for a while. Glad you got it worked out.

Tommy,
Their fiddle is amazing, I could almost see/hear the performer doing this. Thanks.
Tim,
Yes worked a lot of hours to cap this one off. The shifting of the melody into the intro area was a bearcat to overcome. But finally "fingered" it out. Was a relief!
Thank you also.

Frank,
Nice danceable tune.
Some observations:
1. It seems to lose tempo after the first few bars. I know that BIAB has that feature. Is that deliberate, or just my imagination?
2. To my ear, Brent Mason sounds a wee bit stretched.
These are by no means objectionable, just my personal observations.
Good job, my friend. More please.
PS: I liked your strategy of bringing the guitar back in on the outro, that sounded nice.
Is that a boogie beat?

SpaceDog...Thanks
Don,
Man Ya got a good ear.... Was too close to the work to note the tempo change. 115 down to 106 and I built it in. Been working couple of hours to resolve in RB to no avail. Just posted question on RB to help me resolve it.
Also the Brent "Gee-tar" solo is a 165 playing at 106, maybe bit on the edge. Looked to ID what the recommended bandwidth would be and could not find.
Would love to take 100% of the Brent ending credit, but cannot. It was generated with the Soloist execution. I did kick the gain up 6db to feature it a bit more tho. Worth 2.5% maybe.
These comments you made are right on my friend. Although the tempo change is not drastic, was unintended, hence mistake.
I am not a guitarist, only listen to the results, sometimes concentrating on the quality of solo/melody created. Do not have the ear to detect slight under or over stretching.
Again thanks for the tips.

Frank,
I've forgotten where I read it, maybe in the promo material for RTs, but I think +/- 10% was mentioned somewhere. So 165 translates to 148 to 183 BPM, approximately. So you are stretching too far on the low end at 106 BPM. It's an audible degradation to my ears. It loses that "sparkle," as it were. Hopefully, that issue will be addressed in future updates, perhaps with more tempo choices for each soloist.
A great ear experiment would be to get Brent picking on a scratch track then rotate the tempo wheel to both extremes nd note where it gets objectionable.

It's not a boogie in the true musical sense but that's just nit picking eyewash. I don't want to discourage you. "Charge onward and upward, Smiddly!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boogie-woogie

Don,
I derived part of the name from the style name. Which was grey to me also. "_CBOOGS1 Slow boogie with 95S _fiddle"
The other part of the title was based on about 12 measured inches of rain in 10 days.

Kept the Name Kept intro tempo, modified entire song tempo to 115. Kept existing solo guitar, liked the sound, extra bit of tempo helped de-stretch a bit. Details are vital, knew that, but will listen closer in future efforts. Original posted link good for new version. http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=356984&an=0&page=0#Post356984

I really loved that violin in this piece, I could almost hear it saying "Boogie" on certain phrases. Dancing to this would be no problem. (That is if I could dance).

vzudell,
Dont we just love Band In A Box and Realtracks.....
I married a wonderful little ladie almost 47 years ago. Her dancing talent, truly "Ballroom quality".
She lost a great deal in that arena marrying me... About all I can do is walk across a ballroom. The timing between my brain and feet just don't jive.
Appreciate you comments on the dancing aspects. Working specifically on good dance music.
Again, thanks for you compliments.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
