I'm wondering how long my luck will hold out with my line to my wife that goes... "I'm just trying to buy all of the music stuff I need before we retire".

Loveguitar,
That's MY line ...
Just saw a quote that could apply to "some" of us
"He who dies with the most toys wins ......!"
(I am still in the competition)
I'm doing allright for Country Trash ....
I used to care, but things have changed (Bob Dylan)

The best answer to speculation is silence. So you all can speculate even more. Plus the bitching and moaning makes it entertaining. Anyway, this Forum must be the most civilized known to mankind, so not really a lot of entertainment here... oh well. I gues you just can't have everything, now can't you?

It isn't a civil forum by accident. As a group we prefer enthusiastic interaction about the hobby we all love... and as a group we tend to bear down on people who stir up strife and dissent. People who find those things amusing often don't enjoy this forum as much as the rest of us do.
Just sayin'

OK, we're probably at about the 30 day countdown (or less) for the release of 2013 (or whatever "non-13-containing" name it might have)
Let's get some CHATTER going team! Throw some gasoline on the fire of our collective lust for the latest greatest software!
<devil on your shoulder>
Your whole life long people have given you Christmas gifts that end up in a yard sale or landfill. Spread the word among family and friends that this is one gift you'll actually use!
It doesn't matter if you're unemployed, retired, on a fixed income, whatever. It's Christmas time, and somebody else who loves you has money. And they are planning to give you SOMETHING.
If it's too expensive for one person, you can tell the wife, kids, brothers, sisters etc to all pitch in whatever they would have spent on some crappy little unwanted gift in order to get the one big holy cow I love this more than life itself gift you really want. (I've done this. They're usually happy to be off the hook for having to decide what to get you)
On Dec 25th, I plan to start a thread dedicated to collecting stories about how people got BIAB without having to spend their own money. I want to hear some real creative ones.
I plan to stand at a busy intersection with a sign that says "will work for BIAB" (Its too cold to camp out in the PGMusic parking lot this time of year)

I am Zen-like in my patience.
It's all good.
PG and crew will come through. There will be new RealTracks, and new SuperMIDI tracks, and at least two features (probably minor) that will make me go, "Hawt dang! Thassabout time for that 'un."
I inhale.
I exhale.
I inhale.
I exhale.
The Feng Shui of my studio is in tune with my Karmic cycles. My Blu-ray player is in tune with my Tron lightcycles.
All is well.
... WHO AM I KIDDING? WANT WANT WANT NOW NOW NOW!

I think with this upgrade they should also offer a miniature equipment rack to house all the baby hard drives i have now collected...
Imagine that!
I am now using one for my "application server" and one for my "data server". With the size of the realband projects i am thinking of using another for the "realband data server" as each songs datafiles 10-16 tracks are now adding up. I will now have another one for by back-up BIAB system.
I'm doing allright for Country Trash ....

They will serve no wine before it's....
Sorry, wrong product It will be ready when it's ready assuming there will be a new Xmas release. Can't imagine there wouldn't be but still, PG never says anything until it's actually done. Too much risk of announcing something early that turns out to not work and it's never released. Imagine the uproar then.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
