There is an abundance of experience on this board in terms of BIAB and implementing other software and hardware. Perhaps you can re-phrase your intent or problem and allow the support to help you? It is worth considering.

I already know how to implement rather a large range of software you jumped to a conclusion (wrong as it turns out) and you are having difficulty in dealing with it...it's all good it don't jar me none......

I think there is just a mis-communistic here Joden. There is no flame. I can't see anyone here having assumed/concluded anything nor do I have challenges dealing with anything I have posted. All of it is clear and I was sincere. Post count is utterly irrelevant to me and I am positive I did not even notice before responding and while I still don't understand its relevance for you its a moot point. Your ability, skill level, knowledge etc. is not in question. And yes of course, I am sure you can implement software. Still we can all gain knowledge about BIAB from those who know more than we do.

I have found BIAB to be unique. Honestly, despite anybody's experience with any DAWS, software, soft synths, plugins, etc.. or despite being computer or recording 'savvy' I have witnessed and experienced that alot of people here have used BIAB exclusively for many many years and know some awesome work-arounds. It is not setup like many other programs and there is a great deal of knowledge about that unique framework here.

As for JBridge, It was my initial thought. I never got around to it today for BIAB, but maybe this weekend. I have been using it with Steinberg products for the past 6 months. It is really stable. I use it to bridge UAD plugins and Cubase 64 bit and its does it flawlessly. I have never used it to bridge down from 64 to 32bit or used with VSTis however but Joao offers awesome customer support.

Good luck in your endevours.

Cheers~

I knew jbridge would allow 32-bit plugins in 64-bit DAW's, but I didn't realize it went the other way. I'll have to play with that a little bit. Of course, if more than the 32-bit memory limitation is required, I guess it can't overcome that (or does it?).

Learn something new every day.

From SONAR, I also assumed jbridge was only useful in a 64-bit OS. Of course, if you use it in a 32-bit OS, you have an even worse problem with memory, since you are loading the host, the plugin, and then jbridge itself. I can't imagine it could break the memory limitation, or we would have heard about it elsewhere by now.

I've had some great results using Hermann Seib's excellent VSTHost

http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm

Along with
VSTHost Slavery Suite
On the same page.

I fire up the 64 bit VSThost with /slave
It waits for a legree to start up.

Then load the 32bit "Legree" VST into BIAB

VSTHost fires up and I can load and save different 64bit VST and VSTi, audio or midi.

You can save presets in VSTHost to recall standard setups.

You may have to manually adjust the latency. BIAB has utilities for this.

BIAB will not send over things like Tempo or where in bar or song you're in. You will not be able to do sequencers, or have delays synced to the beat. Unless your song happens to be 120BPM. This is the same behavior as for 32bit VST called from inside BIAB.

Currently I'd rather BIAB send this timing data to the VSTs than actually load 64bit plugins. Just my preference.

YMMV, BIAB 2013, Windows 7 64bit
Best of luck

Unfortunately, the tempo lock problem has been talked about, asked about, wished about for years. It's there with both Biab and Real Band. At one time Peter chimed in to say it was being worked on but nothing happened. This is the only problem that he has said that about and then nothing. He's usually great about fixing stuff like this so we can only assume that after looking into it it just can't be done for whatever reason. Ralph at Rayzoon (Jamstix) said 4 or 5 years ago it's in PGM's VST implementation.

My big problem with this is with RB. Can't use a drum synth like Jamstix to create it's own grooves without being able to tempo lock with the host. Works great as a drum sound module though to play Biab generated midi drum parts.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
