I just read the message on John's facebook wall, written by his wife Diane
You will be missed John. You were a great and funny guy.

RIP

I've been dreading this announcement... thanks for letting us know, Sandra.

I liked John. He had a mind for words (in multiple languages) and he sure loved his music. I also appreciated his devotion to PGMusic, and his willingness to counter misconceptions voiced by newbies to the forum.

Put my name on the list of people who will miss John. He made me laugh.

Dear Sandra,

Thank you for letting us know.

That's really sad news. John's wit was unparalleled. Like Pat, he made me laugh too. I used to love reading his posts. He was also a guy who knew how to walk on the sunny side of the street even though it was pouring with rain all around.

Rest in peace, John.

Sadly, I just read this on Facebook as well. John's wit and always-positive outlook will be greatly missed.

We also shared a lot of personal back-and-forth about brass instruments and the Kanstul company, as John was a baritone horn player.

Sad news. The world has lost a great wit.

John had interesting philosophies and I always read what he had to say. He preserved under great health pressures and often just laughed at himself. He knew the odds, but kept trying to do all the things he loved. Fare thee well.

I always enjoyed my verbal sparring with John. He was an excellent wit and wonderful with words in many languages. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts turn now to his devoted wife, Diane, and to his daughters. He always brightened my day. RIP CCCC! (Crazy Cantankerous Canuck Conley).

John,

You made me laugh even when I had no idea what you were talking about - which was about half the time. I have no doubt that is the case with the angels that surely surround you now.. RIP John Conley.

One of the last postings was in regards to his "last" trip
covering the factory, with photo's of the workers, friends
etc.
Even with his extreme problems, he shared this part of his life.

That cat reminded me of the song, "ALL OR NOTHING OR ALL...WON'T BE CAUGHT IN THE UNDERTOW"...

Extremely bright and sarcastic at times, but I dug that Canadian Cat...I believe he was also born near
where my Grandady...One of Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders...who gained his American Citizenship and the opportunities USA offered to thousands of Canadians....

Anyway, I always had a softspot in my heart for that ol' carmudgeon!!

John, you seemed to basically never miss a beat out of this short but busy life...one who truly knew to "live it every day, baby!

Enjoy the big band in the sky....there's certainly ALWAYS A PLACE FOR A COOL AND DETERMINED HORN PLAYER!

John was a "one off"!.............with a wonderful, oblique, sense of humour. He was very helpful to me, through this forum.
He dearly loved his music, and he'll be sadly missed by many of us. So sorry to hear about this, and my thoughts are for his family. Joe G.

Aw man.... I enjoyed John SO much..... fly on the prayer-fueled wings of angels, John. You were a great role model to those who had challenges and might have otherwise given up.

RIP

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
