My normal method of inputting songs into RealBand is to first complete the song in BnB. I then open the song in RealBand and add instruments or vocals using a Fast Track Pro. I then mix the tracks and use Save As to save all the volumes and effects. I'm having a problem with a particular song and can't figure out what I've done. If I make a further change to a particular track setting and save the change, when I start to replay the song, when the audio starts all volume settings will jump to the original settings. I cannot make a change, save the song and maintain the changes. I've put quite a lot of guitar into the song and I sure don't want to have to redo it all. I have received much help in the past from this forum and I appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Likely embedded CC7's at the beginning of the tracks somewhere, these can be stripped out using the MIDI Event List and its filtering can make it a snap.
in the mixer view look at the buttons at the bottom, there is one called Del. highlight any midi tracks you do not want to have volume settings and click that and then click yes. For the most part this removes existing volume settings and allow free mixing. If that does not work you have to go into the midi event list and do it track at a time as Mac said.

How do you Filter Midi Events in Real Band?
I know the feature exists in BiaB, but the Event Editor is different in RB. I've been trying to figure that one out.
RB Help mentions: Data Filter. In some Edit dialogs there is a checkbox for "Use Data Filter."
The Event List Editor doesn't have such a check box, and I figured that this is the most obvious place for such a control to be (have only been able to find it on some Dialogs from the Edit drop down).
How can we view and/or filter all the Midi Events, the same as Biab has? Is that possible?
Thanks Trevor

Problem solved!! Solidrock sent me a link around "nodes", I'd never heard of this before. I went to the new features for RealBand 2014 and there they were. I just set the volumes like I wanted them, saved the song and away I went. Now my question is, how did these nodes get into the song tracks. This is the first time I've encountered these and they were quite helpful. I will research this but if someone would give me a quick answer I'd appreciate it. I've been using BnB since the program came out using the old Roland SC7 and have used RealBand upgrades every year since this program came out. I don't know if I'll ever know some of the technical aspects of the program as evidenced by the replies I got to my question. But I know one thing...the expertise and willingness to share this by PG Music users is extraordinary. Again, I appreciate the help!
They put themselves in there, when you cut or paste something, you always have to check the Nodes have not got a check on them in the copy paste window. It is a pain in the ?*$ ! Watch this video, we need clip base nodes this is how they should work, we only need the track base nodes for volume automation, that can been done in the mixer. There should be a Pan also.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
