So I was searching for posts that may help me with getting good drum outros for my real drum tracks and found this info:

-----------------------------------------------
Multi Channel Drums in the Future? - solidrock
http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=232315#Post232315
RobH says, "RDs do endings 2 bar and 4 bar".
-----------------------------------------------

So when I put a new song together in Real Band, I usually don't do any kind of repeats in the chord window, I just generate the total number of measures I need. As a short example, if I'm doing a 32 bar song should I expect the real drum generation to have an ending at the end of bar 32? I've tweaked with changing the ending bar even or odd and haven't had much luck with that either. The drums tend to just keep on playing normally like they would during the middle of the song.

If there's any suggestions, I'm open to them. Thanks!

Have you set the "End" block to the right of the songtitle window to reflect the Last Bar placement?

Hi Mac,

If you're referring to the Start and End measure blocks near the time signature and key on the top area of the screen, "yes".

Also, when I'm tweaking the ending bar to try and get a better finish on the drums, I do a "Generate" again to rebuild them.

Hey Mac,

I worked on this again this evening and grabbed some screenshots for you. So the first thing I tried was just to insert a real drum track alone after I had set up the chords, key, measures, etc. It generated a full 32 bars of drums with no ending.

On the second pass I just had real band generate BB All, it generated what you see here. As you can see it just stuck the drums out for the full 32 measures:

Final image just shows the simple chord chart. Are there any visual cues missing?

I'm wondering if there's some option somewhere I'm missing that tells the real drums the song is ending.

What I would try is
1. Make a new section at bar 32 (highlight bar 32 and hit Enter so the section marker turns blue)
2. Enter C... as the chord symbol in bar 32 so you generate a hold on the last chord. That way, depending on the Realdrum selected, you'll most likely get a more final-sounding drum hit in measure 32.

Put the C chord again at bar 33, that should do it cool

Thanks Multitracker and Critter. The key issue was the lack of blue section marker at the end. Apparently Real Band needs that for generating endings for the previous section. It didn't seem to matter if I had a follow-up C note on 33.

Again, thanks for the ideas, it was much appreciated. I may get the hang of this yet.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
