Hi Ian.
Loved all of it, right from the opening bar.
Lovely sound from the strat and a clever bit of palm damping in the middle.
Chord sequence works really well and the whole piece has, as you say, a happy feel to it. Great choice of instrumentation and a pro mix.
Oh, and give that bass player a bonus!
ROG. Hi ROG it was fun to do from start to finish. That Bass Player worked really hard and I didn't even have to buy him a pint!! Result!!

Ian, I really liked your playing and the way you changed pickup settings. The muting really worked well. Great melody. The mix sounded good. Nicely done. Tom Hi Tom No pup change - I used neck+bridge throughout (special mod on my Strat) and just moved hand position forward or back. Glad you liked it. Cheers Ian

Ian, I definitely hear "The Shads" in it. May I share it with my friend, Nokie Edwards of Ventures fame? I agree with ROG on the palm mute. Perfectly executed.
Thanks for the "ear candy". Hi Don I guess a bit of Shads will be in here as I am a big fan. The palm muting is a very "Shadows" thing. Lol Fine to let Nokie hear it. Cheers Ian

It's a done deal, Ian. I emailed the link to Nokie.
Unfortunately, the timing is terrible because his 86 y/o mum-in-law is in hospital and doing poorly. I think music is far from their minds right now.
I think he's coming home this weekend.

Ian,
Fantastic! A truly enjoyable song to listen to. Beautiful, melodic playing - with nice variation in technique... A good mix. Love the pace of this... had me bouncing in my chair!
Nice.

floyd Hi Floyd thank you for taking the time to listen and for your humbling comments. Its just a Pop Noodle really but fun to play. At 165bpm it would have ANYTHING bouncing! I took a leaf out of the "FJ Book of Music" and took time to audition a few instruments for the backing, especially the drums. Must have run a dozen or more before I dropped on the RockTexas big sloshy hi-hat sound. Reminds me of the "Mad Drummer" videos on YT. And no apologies for including that Accordion again. Its a super RT. Our granddaughter Freya rocks around to this as only a 2.1/2 year old can. Fun to watch. thanks Ian

Hi Scott thanks for the feedback. The tone is via one of the secret weapons on my Strat - a pull pot for Neck+Bridge selection. Glad you liked it. cheers ian

Hey Ian,
Wow! Even my computer monitor was rocking along with this one. The melody and its arrangement are awesome, and your playing is spectacular. I'd love to hear some words to this.
All the best, Noel

Ian,
I should have dug out my old black horn rim glasses as I listened to that. Or posed with my tennis racket doing the Shadow's walk, in front of the mirror ...as I used to do as a kid! And as a comment I quote, from memory, my favourite Shadows song.
"I say what a lovely tune, wonder who wrote it?"
A modern blast from the past
Alyn

All the best, Noel Hi Noel Glad it rocked you. Lol I blame BB for the arrangement - that RockTexas RD and the Accordion going at 165bpm just seemed kind of right. Words? Oh no - you don't want to hear me sing. Trust me! In my band days they used to put me on at 11pm (drinking up time in those days) so the Landlord could get the punters out. Lol! Cheers Ian

Alyn Hi Alyn Playing "The Shadows" - The most fun you can have with your glasses on! Been playing their stuff for 50 yrs now. You'd think I could get the Walk right by now. I guess it has that Shads spirit. "I say, what a lovely tune. I wonder who wrote it?"comes from Brian Bennett who says it in a lugubrious voice at the end of that tune, which was flip side of "Guitar Tango"in 1962. Total Anorak!!! Lol! Cheers Ia

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
