Whenever I select a section to generate and then press play I get an ear-splitting noise before the song starts playing! It is really awful and I am hoping someone can tell me how to configure so this goes away! Thanks in advance for helping me save my ears!

So where is the sound exactly, is it only on one track that has been generated, can you solo each track and see ?
does it start at the very beginning of the count in, on the first bar, or where the newly generated section starts to play ? can you see the noise in the wav form ?

I am only noticing it after I have selected some bars and regenerated them. When I press play I get this loud sound!

I give up... what is it?
Have you tried a restart of the program?
Perhaps a total computer reboot?
If things start to act screwy in my DAW, which does happen on rare occasions, the first thing I do is:
STOP
SAVE
Close the programs
REBOOT the computer
most times that lets the system get stable again. Sometimes that's all that's needed.
If after the reboot the issue still persists, then I start to look deeper.
Perhaps the project is corrupted, maybe a synth is causing it, maybe something is actually recorded in a track I'm not looking at on my screen.... play detective.... mute everything, hit play,,,, unmute one at a time..... hit play... track it down.

No idea what your problem is, as I've never experienced this, but I'd suspect bit rate or driver change.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
