I can't seem to install Amplitube 3 from my newly purchased BiaB 14 for Windows. I've run the set-up files from the hard drive. I've found the IK Multimedia folder in the Program files(X86) folder. But there is no application or folder to install it. There are only these options:
Use AmpliTube 3.dll that is the VST. Just click on the VST Slot then go to the bottom of the list > Add VST, browse to the folder with AmpliTube 3.dll. If you need more track use Realband
Also if you are using DI Guitars not all of them have DI Holds n Shots They are STILL haven't fixed the problem !
VST/DX Synths/Plugins
Band-in-a-Box has VST synth support for each track, so you can have multiple synths playing on your songs. You can also use VST Audio Plug-ins (reverb, delay etc.) on each track. Plus, you can customize over 150 of the Guitar based RealTracks using the new Guitar Amp Simulator that is included (AmpliTube CS).
When I click on the application extension icon called AmpliTube 3.dll I get this message.
You are attempting to open a file of type 'System File' (.dll) These files are used by the operating system and various programs. Editing or modifying them could damage your system.
There is a more options link, but it is only for programs already installed on my computer. (i.e. Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer. etc...)
Nothing to actually install the AmpliTube program from the Audiophile drive.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
Hi Eddie
Welcome
You wouldn't double-click on the dll file itself, you would select add VST from the Plug-In menu and then browse to the correct location and select the VST file (dll). As SR mentioned, use AmpliTube 3.dll - that is the VST.
The image below shows the steps.
Does that assist?

I would re-install Amplitube 3. If I remember correctly, by default, Amplitube wants to install both the 32-bit and the 64-bit DLL in the same folder with the same name. So when you get to the part that asks where to install, be sure to specify two different folders for 32-bit versus 64-bit. I think what may have happened was that the 64-bit dll overwrote the 32-bit dll, and that's why it won't run.
You may have to do an uninstall before doing the install (can't remember), but it shouldn't take long.

First of all, make sure you are using the most recent version of AmpliTube. You should be able to download version 3.14 from the IK-Multimedia site.
During the installation process, you will eventually get to the screen where you select the options you want. It looks like this:
For the 32-bit DLL, make sure you have VST Plugin selection checked. If you want the 64-bit DLL, make sure you have the VST 64 Plugin selection checked. If you don't want the 64-bit plugin, then deselect that selection.
Click Next to continue and you will get to the 32-bit VST folder selection screen. It looks like this:
I have separate folders for 32-bit and 64-bit VST and VSTi DLL's.
Select where you want to install the 32-bit DLL and make note of this, as this is where you'll have to tell BIAB and RealBand to look for the DLL.
Continue on and you will get to the 64-bit VST folder selection screen. It looks like this:
Enter the folder name where you want your 64-bit DLL. Make sure it is NOT the same as the 32-bit folder, otherwise the 32-bit DLL will be overwritten, since they have the same file name.
Continue the installation and be sure to run the authorization manager to register and authorize AmpliTube on your computer.
Then in BIAB, select the 32-bit DLL (it will be called "Amplitube 3.dll").
If you also installed the 64-bit, then you can select it but only from within DAW's that support 64-bit plugins (BIAB and RealBand do not). You will find it in the folder you specified during installation and it is also called "Amplitube 3.dll".
I hope that helps.

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it!! You may need to hold my hand through this process.
I've just bought the Audiofile version of biaB 2014.
The version of AmpliTube on that hard drive is 3.11.2.0
When I open the BiaB hard drive and click on PG music folder and the installers folder, I get to "ikmultimedia_amplitube_3.11.2"
When I click on that I get a prompt that reads
USER ACCOUNT CONTROL
Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to you computer?
Program name: Amplitube 3 Setup Verified publisher: PG Music Inc. File origin: Hard drive on this computer Program Location: "D:\PGMusic|installers\ikmultimedia_amplitube
Eddie, did you install Amplitude 3? The only time I got that message was during installation.
Also the messages that John got also happen during installation, thus it appears that you did not install Amplitude. I could be wrong but let us know if you did or didn't install Amplitude 3.
Ps - It has been a long time since I installed the free version of Amplitude 3 that came with BiaB but if I remember correctly Amplitude was a separate install. That is it will not install when you installed BiaB and it must be installed seperately.
I just posted a selfie and all of the responses were get well soon!
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware
Hmmm, I never installed the PGMusic provided version (I have the purchased version). Regardless, you still need to install it the program to use it.
So, if you answer "Yes" to the question

None of them since Amplitube 3 is a VSTi. What you need to do is open BIAB then Add the Amplitube 3.dll file as a new VST on a specific instrument audio (not midi) track.
Could you please step us through what you do in Band In A Box to try and set-up Amplitube?
You've been given some great advice in this thread and the fact that it hasn't worked seems to suggest that there's something happening in the sequence of events that we don't know about.
If we can see how you go about doing setting it up in BIAB (a step at a time), it will give us a much clearer insight and make assisting you much easier.
I installed Amplitude 3 free. During installation I un selected the box for the VST 64 bit plugin. There is a YT video says BIAB does not support 64 bit plug ins. Despite that, the 64 bit plugin is the only choice. I'm wondering if IKmultimedia is supporting 32 bit programs any longer? I sent a trouble ticket asking if they do. During registration they ask what host software I'm using. The list had Sonar, Fruity Loops, Protools etc. Probably 20 programs but, did not list anything from PGMusic.

jBridge Using inter-process communication mechanisms, it aims to make it possible to run 32bit plugins in 64bit hosts, 64bit plugins in 32bit hosts, or even bridging 32bit plugins to 32bit hosts, allowing to overcome the memory limitations of a single 32bit process, in this last case.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
