This should be of interest to anyone who records vocals. (One of my all-time-favorite songs - it does not get better than this) Springsteen's vocal from Born To Run. With an easy to understand analysis of the effects used. http://bobbyowsinski.blogspot.com/2014/12/bruce-springsteen-born-to-run-isolated.htmlShows how a vocal doesn't need to be pristine to be perfect... The vocal starts @ :16

pretty cool stuff. I leave a lot of my breath stuff in, but I will cut out all mouth clicks and pops. I wonder how many takes are in there -- sometimes you hear bleed through and sometimes you don't.
He sounds pretty good in isolation, but of course it only matters how it sounds in the mix!

The 'falsetto' squeaks at 55 seconds, 1:44 and 3:59 stick out to me. How he ends it. That combined with the breath adds a lot of life.
As far as recording .. way to many pops/clicks I'd have taken the time to remove. I reckon some of this could be the conversion to video.
The count-in at 3:05 was genius to leave in the final product. It adds quite a bit. I'd smile if I found out it was accidental.
From 3:30 to 4:00 the timing has always bothered me; may be editing, may be performance. The volume change at 4:02 was more than I expected. Interesting.. thanks for sharing!
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Sometimes hearing the isolated tracks is a scary thing. After all, we get to see the artist in a light which we have not gazed upon before. It's kind of like the emperor has no clothes on. I heard EVH's guitar track to Dance the Night Away solo'd out..... it made me say to myself...really? This works for Bruce because he has a fantastic band and has a reputation for being a gritty singer from the rough streets of Asbury Park in New Jersey. This was established in his early albums and became his trademark so to speak. I was in NJ at the time when he was considered a "local musician" and one of our own..... The recording shows that the raw can work.....especially when you have a world class bunch of musicians behind you. I found the recording to be rather noisy but, as I have commented in forums in the past, the music can hide a lot of garbage sometimes depending on what is being played. The fuller the band, with multiple loud instruments, the easier it is to hide noise and hum and vocal grunts in the mix. I think the same thing can be said for Neil Young as far as the raw, nowhere close to perfect vocal delivery. I've also heard some of the big diva singers solo'd.... ouch!!! Then.... there's this>>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2Rhh_4GZmU
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
