Just trying to Promote UT Creation for those without BB or RB.

I know you guys are flat out busy all the time, but when making UserTracks without BB/RB it is very limited for others with DAW's.
If I get them to download the:
"Download one of these template file for making UserTracks without Band-in-a-Box or RealBand:
Pop UserTracks 1 minute template without Band-in-a-Box.zip
Pop UserTracks 1 minute template without Band-in-a-Box with Audio Backing Tracks.zip"

The problem is they are only 1min and you need all these multi tempo SGU's to save your track to the correct tempo (see pic below).
Now if they use a 30min templates you would need to make up a hell of a lot of SGU's, 51 for each template.

Now I thought of a very old version of BB to Edit the Tempo or Chords and save the SGU, but you would really need the UT Bar Settings, and PowerTracks don't save SGU or MGU.

It should not be too hard to make a little Standalone app & exe Mac/Win to simply edit the tempo or chords of an SGU and save it.
Maybe even a VST version, how easy would that be then to make UTs without BB/RB.

I can use a very old Update Band-in-a-Box Version 2004C Update--Build 74 (5.6 MB)
as it is only the exe and won't do to much without the user having the rest of the program but it will open the UserTrack SGU templates, change tempo and chords then save as new SGU, that's great but it looses the UT Bar settings of the original SGU, like "Ending starts on this bar"

Even if you guys used something like this, stripped it down and added the UserTrack Bar Setting to this old exe it would make this easier for those without BB/RB to create UT's rather than having to make 51 SGU's from 50bpm to 300bpm for each SGU Template (below)for the user to choose the correct tempo they have recorded at to include with their wav file:

BIAB 2004 looses the RED UT Bar Settings 4 Bar Ending on Bar 33 after saving with new Tempo:

I'm confused. UserTracks are user-created RealTracks for use in Band-in-a-Box and/or RealBand. So why would you even bother to create user tracks if you don't have either of those programs? You certainly couldn't test them to see how they sound and responded to chord changes, especially in the context of interaction with the other instruments in a style.

I can understand using a different DAW to record and process the User Tracks, but in the end, it seems you're gonna need BIAB/RB.

Or am I missing something here?

Right, but you can't test them out without BIAB/RB. I get the idea of using a different DAW to record the tracks (I've done that using Sonar), but if you don't have BIAB, you'll never know how it sounds in a different chord arrangement.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to do this, but in the future if I were to buy user created Tracks, I would like to know that the creator did more than just assume they were going to work fine.

Same with Loops.

UserTracks can be used in any DAW also.
You have Sonar, download a UT from the List download Musescore 2.0 RC Win\Lin\Mac open the UT.SGU, drag the wave file in to Sonar, copy n paste that's it !
This will make UT more Popular with more producers and not just poor Frank that has been doing all the work.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
