Unfortunately I don't know how to recreate the pops and crackles.

Currently I am playing this file through all twelve keys. I often set the number of choruses high. If BIAB sweats then I reduce the choruses. I sometimes get rid of the two bar endings. I have not messed with the chords. The original is just the demo from the style. When I finish playing for a day I save the song in the key I find the most difficult to play in, next day I start there. The File gets worked hard, I can change key maybe 50 times a day. I take the song through 12 keys at least once a session, two or three sessions a day. I don't change the chords much at all.

All drivers up to date

When you say that you take the song through all the keys, how do you set BIAB to do this?

00, you mentioned your audio buffers are at 512. Have you tried higher buffers like 1024 or higher?

If you are using MIDI have you increased your MIDI drivers?

If your using RTs maybe you're transposing them out of their range thus causing multiple audio artifacts.

As previously mentioned are your drivers up to date? This includes ALL drivers such as video, moutherboard (for USB drivers), etc. I have read that outdated graphic drivers can mess up audio but I have no experience on this.

Let us know and good luck.

PS-this message was sent from my Linux OS outdated notebook from Florida. I am over 1000 miles from my music computer! But I did bring an acoustic guitar!

Hello all, I run a program called Slim Drivers that checks my6 drivers are up to date, inc the mobo. I updated my video driver yesterday and also about tow weeks ago, I checked my Saffire driver for my Focusrite liquid 56 a few days before posting. I keep the ram lean and clean.
"Audio Artifacts" - possible, but to me these sound different to common or garden pops and crackles, though I mi8ght be wrong about this. The unwanted sound seems to me exactly like when you get the latency setting wrong

Thanks foir the suggesttions

BIAB is Still my goto program

Google/bing "Focusrite liquid 56 + crackles and pops" (no quotes) and you will find that others are having the same crackle + pop problem with Win 7, and with some Macs. There are a few suggestions on how to solve the problem.

I don't know if they will help or not in your case but it might.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Read through these mails briefly, but what is your Audio Device? - Got about the same system running: x64, jbridge, i7 Asus board, but i disabled the onboard sound chip (BIOS) and the one on my AMD video card. Did that in the past for some reason like you experience now, probably with other software like Cubase. With either a focusrite, RME multiface, in the past a soundblaster ZS2 with 64 drivers, or yamaha 01v96i no crackling with latency 258. If i set latency higher i do get problems though. - F

I have experiences the very same issue but oddly enough it was on one specific track only, there were crackles, pops etc...none of the other ones I loaded did that. And as fast as it came it went away, only after I tried all of the normal things, restart BIAB, Regenerate song, re-boot PC etc...

Weird indeed...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
