RealBand 2011 doesn't seem to be very intuitive for editing midi. Does anyone have a better recommendation? Ex; I would like to use Piano Roll View and insert a note via right click/insert note and also be able to hold down left mouse and drag note to a high note/pitch. (for examples). I used to use nTrack Studio to do this very easily but no longer have that program. I'm hoping I can avoid buying another program if I can figure out how to do this in one of my current programs. I Have; BIAB 2011. RealBand 2011 and Powertracks 10.
In Notation Mode, does this technique work with 2011 version (I think it should) Left click on the Stave where you want to add a note, Hold control-key down and click drag it to required position. Very quick and easy.

Thanks for your tips. After understanding the Help Topic a little better I'm able to insert notes and edit things quite easily in RealBand 2011. Not as easily as I remember nTrack Studio was. nTrack had all the edits in a menu with a right mouse click and several keyboard short cuts. But, RB 2011 Piano Roll works well enough for what I need.
. BiaB notation has a couple of features in its notation engine that other programs dont. Before you master them, you might think they compare poorly with what you are used to. After you learn them I think you wil see that they are pure genius.
One is that each time you mouse in a new note, BiaB enters a duration of six beats. If you insert a new note in the middle of existing notes, BiaB computes the available time left in that measure and give the new note an appropriate duration. This makes entering notation super fast - once you learn how it works.
Another feature is "Staff Roll" notation. It is a hybrid of piano roll view and staff view. It takes a while to learn, but once you get it I think you will agree that is it brilliant. No other program has anything like it. Well suited to your original question. Look up "Staff Roll Notation" in the help files and practice a little.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
