I seem to have lost the '.dll' for Coyote. I've tried to re-install it from the Help menu, but I still cant find it. When I do find a '.dll' it says it is the 64 bit version. I was playing around with SampleTank V2 and had some success with loading samples, but it's all a bit too hard to be bothered with. I mainly use realtracks, so Coyote will be fine for the odd midi track etc. Also, I realised I had an S20 lying around . The other problem I have is no audio in BIAB via the audio from my notebook pc. No problem in any other program or even Realband. I was using a USB headphones audio setup for Skype and had a work around by using a USB to audio jack for BIAB. I deleted the USB headphones as I'm not using Skype and bingo no audio at all in BIAB (lol). Any ideas? If I do want to just re-install BIAB (program files) not all the realtracks, realdrums, styles etc, what's the best approach. I've taken on board what folks on the forum have said about not re installing unnecessarily, but I think I need a clean BIAB install.

Hi lambada, Are you talking about Coyote Forte or the Coyote WT that comes with BIAB/RB? Regards, Noel

lambada, Ok. If you have a Windows 32-bit operating system, you should find coyoteWT.dll in c:\program files\coyote\coyoteWT. If you have a Windows 64-bit operating system, have a look in "c:\program files(x86)\" for "coyote\coyoteWT". The (x86) program files is where 32-bit programs and dlls are stored. Let us know if this works or not. Regards, Noel

Thanks, I'll try tomorrow. I'm using 8.1, so maybe it is 64 bit. I just wonder why it worked before but not now. Maybe I have to buy jbridge.

lambada, CoyoteWT was included with BIAB for people who have a 64-bit operating system. BIAB is only 32-bit and the 32-bit CoyoteWT works fine as an interface between between the 64-bit environment and 32-bit BIAB. There is no need to buy jbridge unless you need it for other soft synths to run in BIAB. Regards, Noel

Coyote (both WT and Forte) are DXi's, not VSTi's, and install and are available via the Windows registry (your host should see it there automatically - I believe you can tell BIAB and RealBand to rescan, if necessary). If you don't see it available, maybe try re-installing it from your original BIAB disk.
BIAB and RealBand (and other 32-bit hosts) should recognize it automatically as a DXi. There is no DLL to load (that is for VST/VSTi's). You will not be able to use it in a 64-bit host, however.

Thanks for the information, John. I wasn't aware of that difference between DXi and VST plugins. Lambada: BIAB's scanning feature that John mentions can be found by following 1, 2, 3, 4 on the image below. Regards, Noel

nothing has worked so far, so put in a support call to pgmusic. One bonus is I got rid of an Acer music bundle and my audio came back in BIAB. That's a big hassle fixed. 48 hrs (lol)

BIAB support helped me fix this. I reinstalled the Dxi files etc from a download support sent me and then renamed a little file called maxpluginstoscan.txt in the bb folder which BIAB suggested I rename. All fixed!

As for Sampletank (lol). Still trying to sort out the product registration amongst other things. I bought Omni years ago with Sampletank 1l? and recently bought loads of the $10 sample packs mentioned on the site to use with the version in BIAB. Still can't load omni samples without loosing the BIAB ones let alone the new ones. Not that I tried very hard. IKMultimedia never respond to support requests which is a shame as the samples are nice. I suspect messing around with Sampletank II had a lot to do with me losing my Dxi's. I mainly use the real tracks so they'll go on the 'gonna do' one day pile.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
