Two old standards I came across last week. Found a biab file for them on Allanahs website and combined the two. I changed the style to real tracks and I think the end result is
good. The first photo is of Inverness harbour about 8 miles west from where I live

Hi Furry,

They go together very nicely. I got to play Harbor Lights alone with Henry on accordion and it would be nice to have a Fog Horn in the distant to start and end. Years ago I heard a recording doing just that.

Also I brought up Harbor Lights in BIAB and added, Red Sails In The Sunset to it. Thanks for that Idea...

Well done, G! Another winner

Remember I told you last year of the wedding between my Godfather's daughter and the ferry boy? Well, the old man passed away a couple of months ago. It would be great if you could find and produce something based on Colintraive and I could send it to his widow. If it helps, he was a hill-farmer with sheep. Many thanks in advance

Thanks very much, G

BTW, linking on from here, you could attempt the old Roger Whittaker standard 'The Last Farewell'. In case you've forgotten, the lyrics are as follows:

"There's a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbour
Tomorrow for old England she sails
Far away from your land of endless sunshine
To my land full of rainy skies and gales
And I shall be aboard that ship tomorrow
Though my heart is full of tears at this farewell

refrain:
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell
(repeat)

I heard there's a wicked war a blazing
And the taste of war I know so very well
Even now I see the foreign flag a raising
Their guns on fire as we sail into hell
I have no fear of death; it brings no sorrow
But how bitter will be this last farewell

refrain:
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell
(repeat)

Though death and darkness gather all about me
And my ship be torn apart upon the seas
I shall smell again the fragrance of these islands
In the heaving waves that brought me once to thee
And should I return safe home again to England
I shall watch the English mist roll through the dell

refrain:
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell
(repeat)
"

I know its not Gaelic or an instrumental but I think your accordion could work wonders on this lament

Graham,
Two songs I enjoy, and were at one time, my Mom's favorites. I'll play this for her the next time I'm over her way, I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

Good work!

Gary

Two of my favorite standards played by my favorite accordionist.

What’s not to love about this?

SUPER mix Graham

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Very nice Graham,
How's chances of getting a copy of the audio.
I'd like to add some harmonica riffs to it.
Thanks,
Walt

Hi Graham,
Excellent as usual - again two great tunes. A quick funny story - many years ago, in a record store $2.99 bargin bin, I found a cassette tape of "The Platters - Live". (It contained both of the songs that you did.) When I took it home and played it, the "producers" had taken studio tracks of The Platters and just inserted applause tracks between each song to simulate a live recording.

Yeah Sam, and the applause started & finished very abruptly, as if someone was pressing the play /stop button on a casette player.

Cheers,
Keith

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
