Misty Windows

Misty windows cloud my mind Fire blazin in the winter time
Birds peckin anything that they can find Bones achin I'm half blind
But I'm still here so I don't mind

Got a funeral in the rain Down a long and leafy lane
Fine old fellow he's free from pain Sweet memories flood my brain
Gone and won't be back again

Misty windows cloud my mind Fire blazin in the winter time
Birds peckin anything that they can find Bones are achin I'm half blind
But I'm still here so I don't mind

Frosty morning snow down south Spreads like gossip by word of mouth
My head leaks in the pouring rain Words are spilling down the drain

Fallen angels naked trees Lost leaves searchin in the breeze
mindfulness with peace and ease Wanderin freely where I please
In love with lifes sweet symphony

Misty windows cloud my mind Fire blazin in the winter time
Birds peckin anything that they can find Bones are achin I'm half blind
But I'm still here so I don't mind

Winter moves all damp and grey gets too cold then goes astray
Seasons changing every day Think that I'll stay and play
Till summer blows the frost away

Misty windows cloud my mind Fire blazin in the winter time
Birds peckin anything that they can find Bones are achin I'm half blind
But I'm still here so I don't mind I'm still here and I don't mind

Nicely done. It's warmed up here in Sydney - how's NZ?
Anyway - enjoyed the lyrics and delivery.

Richard, loved the poetic lyrics. It was an enjoyable listen but I thought the guitar real track was stretched too slow. if you found another suitable guitar track that was near the bpm it would sound better. Stay warm, Tom

Always enjoy your lyrics, Richard.

It's end of summer here - odd to think y'all are coming out of winter...

Hi Peter. Thanks for the listen and comment.
We are into spring pretty much now.
I think Sydney weather takes about 3-4 days to cross the Tasman then we get it.
So keep the good weather coming! Cheers.

Hi Tom. Agree about the guitar tracks speed.
I kind of like the draggy stoned effect but will check for another track. Cheers.

Hi Floyd. Written a couple of months ago.
Yes spring is springing and blooms are blooming here.
Still lighting the fire occasionally. Great time of year. Cheers.

Hi RnAM. I enjoy the fact that we are scattered all over the globe.
Makes me feel comfortable somehow.
Had a warm and cosy winter and hope you do too.
Cheers.

I had trouble drawing a bead on this. Several people mentioned they thought it was funny.

I thought it was rather somber, but the line But I'm still here so I don't mind didn't seem to fit the chorus. And Think that I'll stay and play had me scratching my head.

So... Good write, but I'm too simple-minded to have both happy and sad coexist in the same song!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi David. Thanks for the listen and very much for your observations.
The idea of the song is to compare winter with old age.
The winter of ones years.
Although winter may be cold and wet it is still possible to enjoy it and anticipate summer ahead.
Also I realised at the funeral of a friend that even with it's aches and pains life is pretty good.
Hope this helps. Sorry it's not explained better in the lyrics. Cheers.

Thanks, and no apology necessary!

Just wanted to give some feedback from the "pea-sized brain" listener group. wink

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
