I've been a BIAB user for years and have been blown away since the introduction of Real Tracks. You guys are fantastic. I've just upgraded to the 2015 Mac version. There is one aspect of the system that has long puzzled me. When inputting chords there is the capability to push the chords changes by an 8th or 16th but we are unable to push the chord and still play the same or another chord on the original beat. e.g. Let's say I wanted the third beat to be an Ab pushed by an 8th or 16th but also wanted the same chord or another chord on the third beat. Is this something you guys have worked on and, if so, will it be possible in the future?

Welcome to the forum. I just wanted to confirm that this is one of the most requested features. You are not missing anything; BIAB is not able to do this.
I sometimes enter chords as notes in the melody or harmony track to simulate the missing chord.
Another trick you can try is in the Edit menu, where you can expand the length of the song to twice. Using a different tempo, you now have the ability to place chords on consecutive quarter notes. What used to go in one measure is now spread over two. You have to try different styles, and it doesn't always work, but sometimes it does.

This is something that has been requested for a v--e--r--y long time. I don't think we're going to get it until we get 8th note resolution.
You can only put one chord in each of the four slots in a bar, and then for each one, you can push any of them to the left by either an 8th or 16th. So once you do that (for example on the 3rd beat), all you have left is the chord on the 4th beat, which cannot be push a full quarter note.
If we can't get 8th note resolution, it would be nice if we could get an opposite of a push, where it delays the chord for an 8th or 16th. Not a perfect solution, but assuming the chord on the first beat carried into the second beat, you could then delay the chord on the second beat by an 8th and then just keep the third beat directly on the third beat. But I've requested that before also.
For now, about all you can do play with tempos to simulate it; however, it may not sound very good, depending upon the style selected.

Thanks guys. It's slightly comforting to know others have the same frustration. Another wish is for a triplet facility when inputting chords. 8th triplets and crotchet triplets would be very handy. Perhaps sometime in the future?

Muted trumpet would be nice as a Real Track. This one should be entered into a different forum, more specific: the Styles and RealTracks Wishlist Forum. It's three places under this 'regular' Wishlist forum.

Totally agree with adding chords per quarter note...I tried the chord sequence modify to try to fool it, as some of the Bossa files I'm learning have chords per quarter note and sometimes per eighth. Pretty frustrating to not have that feature in an otherwise awesome program!

A SUPER BIG +1 for eight note chord input resolution.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Big +1 from me too !
By the way, I would like to control, in the same way, how and when drum fills should be played.
Sometime I need a drum fill not at the first beat, but somewhere after. Some other time I need more than one, for example a couple of short drum fills inside a bar.
Sergio.

Sergio, yes! This one is a different request from the one on chord input and you might consider making a separate thread.
We have discussed drum fills here every so often. As a result of our requests, PG Music recently added the ability to turn OFF the drum fill at a part marker. That's a good start.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
