Its midnight and you are enjoying a drink as you watch the snow slowly fall to the ground. You feel happy as your family was here for the holidays but you also have moments of sadness because they all have gone home. Not to worry as they will be back for the next holiday.

----------------------------
Life has been getting in to the way of my music making and listening. I have been very busy with the holidays, remolding the house and doctors appointment (all is good just routine checks for the wife - so many doctors!) for the last two months but hopefully I will start to slow down soon.

I had hoped to get this out in the first week in January but I just now finished it.

BiaB style = Awaken1-Slow, mystic New Age. I deleted the drums and Ice Rain tracks. All other tracks were turned into pads.

I added the flute and violins/violas via my wind controller.
I added the double bass/cellos via my keyboard controller.

Let me know what you think.

Midnight Snow

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Very well done Mario!
I like that Awaken style, have a concept lying around with it somewhere.
Cool playing!

I always like your stuff Mario, but I think your atmospheric songs are my favorites! This is great!! What kind of synth is that? It's a beautiful sound. When the solo string came in, it almost sounded like an opera singer, which would have also worked perfectly. Wonderful music!! Take care. Greg

Your story certainly set the scene for this piece, Mario. It is hauntingly beautiful.

What a great delivery. Smooth as!

Hi Mario,

"It's midnight. Very calm. Snow is fluttering outside..."
I can see the scene clearly. Excellent description. I enjoyed a lot.

Hi Mario, just snowed here last night (not much but enough to enjoy). I enjoyed what you came up with on this song. Good listen.

Mario,
Apart from the fact I don't drink and I haven't seen snow fall for maybe 20 years grin that was relaxation personified.
Nice midi sounds and wonderful playing, exactly what I have come to expect from you.
Beautiful and made so much more special considering the troubles you both have been through.

wonderful

You should change your handle from Mario_guitar to Mario_Composer.

I know you play guitar very well, but this composition is award-winning!

It is very difficult to get a great ambient sound and you have done it. Excellent production. Loved the sound, the music and the professionalism. Well done.

First and foremost I want to thank all for listening and those very nice comments. I appreciated all of them.

Greg that synth was a third party group of pads for the full version of Kontakt. The company is Hideaway Studios and the sounds are a multi called TBZ07 Midnight Snow from the Blue Zone Series:
https://hideawaystudio.wordpress.com/

Again I would like to thank all that stopped to listen and comment.

I like Greg's word "atmospheric." Most apt.

This is a very strong production. It sounds
gigantic on our monitors. The mix and resulting
soundstage is all over the room -- in the right
way. Wonderful playing.

Wow!

Hi Mario.

This is well up to your usual high standard. You've got a really good frequency range going on, from the beautiful low strings stretching up to the ethereal flute.

Very cleverly arranged and produced. Sounds like film music, to me - I certainly have no difficulty in picturing the scene you describe.

Altogether very relaxing.

ROG.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
