Loaok for a Music Scanning software that can convert the scanned result to a MIDI file.
Then load the MIDI file into BIAB.

Yes, I second Mac's reply. I'm a relative newbie, but have been using Finale Print Music's scanning utility to scan into Print Music, then save as a MIDI file and import into BIAB or RB.

If you find and feel successful with this please let me know. I've tried PrintMusic and also the pro version of the Sibelius scanning software. Here are the 2 problems that I've had:
1. The preview shows the scan pretty clearly but the software seems to produce a lot of errors in scanning. In fact, I can input the single part stuff faster manually from scratch than I can scanning it in and correcting all of the errors. 2. The sheet music comes in different dimensions. Some sheet music does not fit well on a normal size scanning bed. Things like thick books of music are also hard to scan and/or copy.
I gave up using the scanning stuff some time ago. Luckily, I have been able to find midi files that I can load in and then edit. That still takes some time though. When I've got all the stuff in and have my final BIAB song, I print out the music via BIAB. I actually like the printed page it produces better than the one from Sibelius. FWIW
I sincerely hope your experience with scanning sheet music is better than mine.

Yes, you're quite right about the need for editing; I've only used the "lite" application that comes with Print Music, so I don't know if the optional, more expensive version works any better. Since I'm not a keyboard player, I'm not fast at inputting the data, so even with editing the scans, they've worked for me.
You're also right about the problems inherent in using flatbed scanners: I've only used letter-sized sheet music and the utility on my Epson scanner allows me to crop the preview image to the correct size before doing the final scan.
In any case, there probably aren't easy solutions that most of us can afford.
Good luck with your MIDI files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
