Funny thing - the first publisher I pitched this to (who specializes in Christmas music, by the way) said he really liked it, but it was "too religious" for him to publish. "Too 'religious'"?????? Sorry to be so late on this... Bob,
Through the years I have heard a number of newly penned Christmas songs (who wouldn't want to have a good Christmas cut?!). Very few are worthy. Most, not even close.
THIS is THE best I've ever heard. Perhaps the only "traditional" Christmas song I've heard that "works". This should be on a dozen new Christmas records. It sounds like a "classic" on first listen.
Hope you've got someone pitching this. You could live the rest of your life on the sheet music sales alone.

floyd has already been quoted by Pat....but he said it so well. It is stunning. This is a genre that had it not been your song I likely would not have listened to due to the incredible amount of bland material put out seasonally. There's something for everybody here. Really glad someone brought this one back!! Beautifully written and sung!! The best Christmas songs aren't always written at Xmas. I heard The Christmas Song was written in July. This is another gem that came out of season. Great one Bob!! Take care. Greg

Wow! This sounds like it should be on the radio for others to enjoy. It sounds instantly classic!
To me, it's one of the songs that if you were watching a Christmas movie and this came on at one of "those" moments, I would get choked up. I think it's that cool!
One last thing, the addition of the voice/pad (whatever it is) at 50 seconds was atmospherically perfect! I loved that!
