Love the intro and the title made me chuckle.

What did you do to the bass at 2:06? It pops more here. In a good way.

solid write and the chorus works really well.

You just have to love that baritone guitar

Great song!

A nicely written and performed song. Caught bit of Dylan in the bass and acoustic.

Good stuff.

Lawrence,

Thanks. Good ear - I pumped the volume on the bass a bit to give it some additional push.

Another great one Bob. You have such a distinct artistic sound.

There are a lot of memorable hooks int his song, especially those guitar parts.

Excellent use of effects--but not overuse. Well done!

Really enjoyed this, Bob.

It has a nice "pop-y, peppy rhythm" to it that works well. Catchy. A good vehicle for your thoughtful lyrics.

Nice instrumentation. Good mix. I really like your vocal in this - it has a little bit different sound than anything previous... a clarity and "presence" - excellent.

Bob, I also smiled at the title. Your voice sounds great on this one. The tremolo infused baritone guitar works like a charm. Good arrangement and mix. I really enjoyed the feel of this. Tom

This is a really creative and effective mix of RT's. That, the write and the performance with the aforementioned effects all add up to a most enjoyable listen. Like everybody we thought the baritone guitar worked big time.

Enjoyed it!

Hi Bob,

Like everyone else, we were immediately hooked by the baritone guitar. It's not a sing in which we expect to hear it - but it works! Wish the bass line was just a bit more up front. But, this is a cool song from you. We liked it - more than a little bit! best t you,

Alan & Di

Hi Bob,

It's a great arrangement that you have put together here... very inventive. The baritone guitar is an excellent choice. I also found it interesting how you used the word "fly". I've never come across it in this sense before.

Here in Australia (at least, my part of Australia), 'fly' is used either as a noun (as in 'the fly buzzed around') or a verb (as in 'he set out to fly around the world') but not as an adjective in the way that your title uses the word. That led me on a bit of a journey. When I consulted the complete Oxford dictionary, I discovered that 'fly' (the adjective) has been around since the early 1800s and means nimble, clever, dexterous, etc. Now I understand!

Thanks for the lesson smile

All the best,
Noel

This is a great tune, Bob! Feels trite to single out that baritone guitar again but it's really phenomenal. Definitely not something I would've expected to hear but it gives the whole tune a dusty, Neil Young-ish feel -- perfect backdrop for your excellent lyric write.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
