THANKS Joe, glad you enjoyed it! THANKS as well for the other listens. Don't forget to listen to the last verse, the harmonies really take off. (THX Dusty!)

Hi Ron,

We loved it! Dusty did a real nice job on the vocal. Really cool song! We listened a couple of times. Just enough music - not too much. Very nice!

On another note - I was stationed with a Ronald W. David when I was stationed in Germany in the early 70's (Einsiedlerhof). You look quite a bit like him. he was the reenlistment NCO - from Georgia. Just wondering!

Alan & Di, so glad you liked this song! Did a later version with SLIGHTLY louder guitars, but the vocals/words/harmonies are so good that I didn't want them to be lost.

So CLOSE on the connection! My last name is Davis, not (quite) David; assuming this was the Army, I worked for the Army for many years; and I'm from Georgia, and my family is still there. But sorry, not him.

Thanks, Greg! Dusty does really kill it...AGAIN. smile

Here are the lyrics:

Life has its ups and downs
And so do our dealings
Sometimes it’s on the ground
Sometimes near the ceiling
Every once in a while
I wake up in the morning
And wonder why we try
We ought to pay more attention to the warning
And try to find out why
(Or we could just turn a blind eye)

Have I ever mentioned
That I really love you?
Give me your attention
Cos I’m thinkin’ of you
Every once in a while
I find myself afraid
I’ll fall for you too hard
But I realize it’s probably way too late
To put myself on guard
(I’m just whistling past the graveyard)

It’s tough to live lonely
Without a constant friend
I thought you were only
A means to find my end
Every once in a while
I go to bed depressed
And feeling kind of blue
It all seems like a novel way for us to test
My affections for you
(We can’t have our cake and eat it too)

Carry me away
And I’ll crawl back for more
Bury me today
I’m feelin’ a bit sore
You know what they say
We’re rotten to the core
You know I can’t stay
So don’t padlock the door
You spend all my pay
But I’m really quite poor
I’ve had a long day
It’s been hard to ignore
Can you meet me half-way
Cos you are what I live for

Ron,

I enjoyed this. Some great lyric rhymes there! I also liked the feel of the groove. I found it very engaging from start to finish.

Regards,
Noel

Thanks, Noel. The lyrics aren't mine, but they are amazing. Among my favorite lines..

Every once in a while
I find myself afraid
I’ll fall for you too hard
But I realize it’s probably way too late
To put myself on guard
(I'm just whistling past the graveyard)

I'll take some small credit for the feel, but Dusty nails the vocals, and his three part harmony on the final verse just takes it to another place altogether.

Really is magical when it all comes together. Glad ya'll enjoyed it!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
