Mr. Snyder implied that my last one was a bit somber and made a request... Hope you have a party blast for July 4th and write a song about drinking, cussin', hollerin' and screamin' and howling at the moon for pure drunken joy and kissing every pretty girl in town next.
Throw a Telecaster in there too and turn it up to 12. Perhaps a bit over-the-top... but there are elements worth exploring... A bit of "carousin' with the boys", drinkin' an' hollerin'. Likely at night. A bit of the kissin'-the-girls thing... though in a limited manner... Since Brent handles the leads, I'd venture to say that was a Telecaster... This will give you a picture of... UNCOMMON GRACE i'm shootin' pool and having some beers with the guys and my phone rings, i tell 'em that was grace, i gotta go they start whoopin' it up 'bout how i'm wrapped 'round her finger some whipped boy-toy led by the nose fellas, some things are hard to explain grace ain't no ordinary jane a careful collection of contradictions nothing sits right, nothing out of place not even trying, she's the center of attention that little girl grin, that movie star face that's the picture of uncommon grace well that took 'em back a bit they didn't know quite what to say room got kinda quiet as i headed toward the door i hear charlie say "man, she must be something" i say "you never seen the likes of her before" a tornado. a goddess. a full-out addiction. grace simply defies description a t-shirt and pearls, worn tony lama's hears her own drummer, sets her own pace stubborn like her daddy, a beauty like her mama rifle in the window rack just in case that's the picture of uncommon grace she's standing in the hall when i walk through the door that grin on her face, her robe on the floor a quiet storm, giving, demanding temp tattoos beneath tattered lace gives her heart with wild adandon any man would die for just one taste that's the picture of uncommon grace damn good picture of my girlfriend grace i've been graced. Hi Floyd.
A spoken verse! Never thought I'd hear that from you, but doesn't it work well. Man, I just wish I could do that accent.
Hey what a picture you've painted here. Sounds like a nice girl. I thought at first you were going for the old joke - he walked into the room with easy grace...
Superb track which rocks along nicely. Great vocals and harmony and absolutely no complaints about the solo this time!
Good LOUD.
Loved the whole thing.

Awesome!!! Now that's what I'm talking about!! Loved every bit of this, especially the drum production, for example, the little flourish of a two thump at the very end, and the drums rolls in the middle. How did you do that???? I know they are samples, but what's the technique? Great song!!

What a tune, Floyd! Had me groovin' in my seat Nothing like a good old country tune! Extremely catchy, extremely well mixed - and that guitar solo at 1:30 is wicked! Thanks so much for sharing, you should be proud of this!

I really like the combination of the spoken versus the non. I think it was the perfect touch for this song. I feel it presents it more overtly as a story. Loved it.

hey Floyd,
Di and I were wondering why this isn't on the radio ... then it dawned on us - it's too damned good! This sounds professional as anything out there. Great lyric, backing tracks and a splendid vocal performance. If it gets any better than this, we'd have to call it something besides a song. This is a bar of excellence that few, if any of us, will be able to approach.
BTW, we liked it!

Well FJ, just like every one of your songs, this is my favorite I hope that doesn't water down my comments! Anyway, this made me laugh... Originally Posted By: David Snyder Hope you have a party blast for July 4th and write a song about drinking, cussin', hollerin' and screamin' and howling at the moon for pure drunken joy and kissing every pretty girl in town next.
Throw a Telecaster in there too and turn it up to 12. Just once I wish DS could spit out what he's trying to say. It's always soooo vague what he's lookin' for I have to admit, when I saw the title this was NOT what I was expecting. I may have been more along the lines of what DS was saying. Anyway, this song is so cool. The semi-spoken part is fun, and that chorus! LOVE IT! It's catchy! Really, really catchy. I would be you walked around with it stuck in your head when you weren't working on it? As far as production, I feel that may have been the tightest I've heard from you. I mean, it LINES up! I felt every instrument fit exactly where it should be. Loved the grove. Love the changed between sections. Just a lot to keep the listener interested! It's not my name, but you had me at "Mr. Snyder"

Cool stuff....
Lots of comments on the spoken verses.... I didn't see anything on the mods/de-mods throughout. I thought that was an excellent idea.
Well done.

floyd, The first thing that hit me is the sound of the drums and the overall clarity of the mix. The next thing is the modulations as mentioned by Herb. Great stops! The talking blues feel really adds to the story. It's like you're sitting next to me at the bar swapping lies and tall tales. Superb! Loved it! Tom

Someone throws down the gauntlet, and you turn into yet another perfect song. Plus, you turn it up a couple notches more with the spoken word bit. I've been schooled by fj again - and I love it.

Absolutely sensational Floyd, this is waaaay-up-there.
The contrasts between spoken verse and singing really give this marvelous dimension.
And everything is all wrapped up in a very impressive set of lyrics, and topped off with outstanding guitar work.
This is a best seller for sure.

Sheeesh, you put a song up and within no time all the entire superlative bucket has been unloaded on you.
Pick a comment, any comment, from the above and we agree. The spoken word, the modulations, the drums, the write all deserve the praise.
"a careful collection of contradictions"
That is a great line and for us it can describe the write. It's obviously good ole boy leaning but with some very literate twists throughout, e.g., ain't no ordinary jane, I've been graced, and more.
mr jane, this one is definitely not an ordinary mr jane.
For anybody that hasn't yet...turn this puppy up to 11 and listen to how it all holds together so well.
Masterful!

Hello, floyd
Great track! Catchy song! It is wonderful to organize the songs that come back and forth between D major key and E major key. As many others said, the combination of the spoken parts and the sung parts are really nice. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Someone throws down the gauntlet, and you turn into yet another perfect song. Plus, you turn it up a couple notches more with the spoken word bit. I've been schooled by fj again - and I love it. Thanks, David. Always nice to see you come around. (Would love to hear something from you again...) Absolutely sensational Floyd, this is waaaay-up-there.
The contrasts between spoken verse and singing really give this marvelous dimension.
And everything is all wrapped up in a very impressive set of lyrics, and topped off with outstanding guitar work.
This is a best seller for sure.
Really appreciate that, Trevor... (And when do we get to hear another from you? The couple of things that you have posted totally blew me away...)

Wow Floyd this is so different than your other tunes. There were so many part of the production that were unique. Well done. Super vocal and very creative lyrics. And the backtrack was superb... Appreciate that, Scott...thanks... Smokin' HOT FJ! Super lyrics, arrangement, vocal, production....you name it...
(If I was listening with you in person I'd be doing the Wayne's World "we're not worthy" salute after hearing this one. LOL!)
Josie Good to see you around, Josie... I can see you doing the WW salute...

Masterful!
J&B
Y'all are too kind.... I enjoyed this review... Hello, floyd
Great track! Catchy song! It is wonderful to organize the songs that come back and forth between D major key and E major key. As many others said, the combination of the spoken parts and the sung parts are really nice. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.
Shigeki Adachi Shigeki Adachi - thanks for having a listen... Now that's my kind of tune, seeing as I am more of a rocker, fantastic, great lyrics, patches I use a lot. Wow, another winner from FJ.......... Thanks for stopping by again, Steve...

Hey there, Floyd. This one has it all: buddies, booze, women, guns, sex, pickup trucks, and some hot guitar. All that redemption in one song is almost too much to bear. But we'll try. Excellent. Bob

Floyd you came up with something pretty good here. The mix in this song is about as good as it gets! There are some very good things happening with the lyric content in this. Some really clever phrases. A very, very good job done here. Thanks, Torrey

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
