Without You

I love Shuffle Blues. I wrote this one back in 2011 on a different music creation program. So, the chord pattern and lyric were already in place. I just had to recreate it in BIAB. That took a couple of hours and then I recorded the vocal. Got it on the 2nd take. Love that B3 !!!!

Thanks for the visit and any comments you might have.

Alan

Without You

V1
Without you, the stars no longer shine
And every night I go right out of my mind
Without you, the sky’s always gray
And it rains in my heart almost every day
Red tears flowing from a heart broke right in two
I can’t live, no I can’t live without you

V2
Without you, I don’t have a thing
The sun doesn’t rise, the birds no longer sing
Without you, my nights are so cold
Arms reaching out, with no one to hold
I cry all day, and I cry all night too
I can’t live, no I can’t live without you

Chorus
You were my destiny, you were the best part of me
You were the life that breathed in me
I just can’t live without you, baby why can’t you see
I just can’t live without you

Two Instrumental Verses

V3
Without you, my soul is so bare
Just pain and sorrow, hurt everywhere
Without you, my heart doesn’t beat
I can’t stand, on my own two feet
None of my dreams will ever come true
How can I live, how can I live without you

Chorus
You were my destiny, you were the best part of me
You were the life that breathed in me
I just can’t live without you, baby why can’t you see
I just can’t live without you

Well, it so happens that I love shuffle blues too! I played lead guitar in a blues band back in the 90's.

This is great, love the way you phrase your vocal lines. Love hearing the harp in there, and yeah, love the B3!

Nice one!

Rob,

Glad you liked it. I'll do what I can to keep a few of them on the forum when I can. Thanks so much!

Hi Dave,

You are so kind ... thank you! Shuffle Blues, particularly in a minor key, is one of my very favorite genres to listen to and to play. There's a certain magic about a B3 organ. It grabs you and won't let you go.

As far as the vocals, that's my really weak point. I have an okay voice for Smooth Jazz, R&B and crooning. After that, it goes down hill real quick! Glad this one works for you. Thanks again for all the kindness!

Nothing like a good shuffle blues tune smile I love the groove of this, and the vocal delivery is pristine! It has the perfect level of gruffness and emotion.

Thanks so much for sharing - you should be proud of this one!

Alan,

A very nice groove.Don`t play down your vocal chops- I for one wish I could get the gravel you`ve found in your voice for this one! Your phrasing is excellent and the lyrics pack a punch.
Glad you are finding time to get these songs recorded.

Hi Scott,

Thank you so much! Professionally, I played country music all my life (that's where the money was). But, I've always liked other genres just about as much. Glad you liked it - thanks!

Thanks a bunch, Robert. I appreciate that very much. I've been working on getting that "edgy" sound in my voice. Thanks for noticing and mentioning! Best to you,

Alan

Nice, Alan. I really like your vocal in this. Gritty.

Every part works - B3, guitar, harp... cool stuff.

Like the great feedback recently posted by Al-David:
"I write and play in quite a few different genres. The flexibility BIAB gives me makes transpositions, from one genre to another, so easy and quick. A number of times I've created a piece, intending it to be a Smooth Jazz or Smooth RnB song. But when I generated the song, it just didn't work in the intended genre.

With a simple click of the Style Picker ... BAM! The song ended up as a pretty decent Pop song. I only had to replace a couple of instruments from the new style and alter a couple of chords..."
