To our friends who might live in areas affected by the devastating hurricane, we wish you all well and few, if no problems.

Yes, indeed.

It's all over the UK news channels.

Our thought are with you and hoping that you all stay safe.

I just saw a news clip about some river that is at 53 feet. It normally lives at 25 feet. I can't even fathom anything like that. Danny C may want to weigh in on this one from Katrinaland. In your mind how does this compare?

.. sorry .. probably my fault ..

I rode out hurricane Alicia on Galveston Island about 30+ years ago; would never do something that stupid again and do not wish that on anyone. I know many had no choice. You have my prayers and understanding.
If you are in that mess be safe, be smart, hang in there.
This too shall pass ..

/anyone severely affected by Harvey probably can not see these posts yet, but know that we cared, once you do see them

60 miles east of us, Beaumont is under water, with no power and their water plant is inoperable, I-10 west is shut down at the TX state line. We had a few trees down, some water rescues. My family other than being stressed out for days is thanking God we were not hit as hard as our neighbors over there and got no damage to our house. The Red Cross is here with a shelter at our civic center that is now the "triage" point for the east TX evacuees that will go on to the main long term shelter in Alexandria. It is a lot like Katrina with so many evacuees here but the floods from this - at least from SWLA and SETX coasts are much worse. Beaumont had over 44 inches of rain total. And over 26 inches in one day.

That is fantastic news, Josie.

I pray that all of my Internet friends that live in the hurricane's path are safe and sound. You can replace items but you can not replace people.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I'm also glad you're safe Josie.

I've been through every Hurricane in South Florida since Donna back in 1960.

Fortunately my parents were wise enough to buy a house 26 feet above sea level (a mountain in Florida) and a CBS home (cement brick and steel via the old pre-watered down building codes). We went through a 210mph gust storm with no problem to the structure. The trees in the yard didn't fare as well.

But 'thanks' frown to climate change, the storms are getting bigger and fiercer. What was once an 100 year intensity storm seems to be happening every few years. The water temperature is getting warmer, and around here the water level has risen about 9" (according to a fisherman who has been fishing the same lagoon for over 60 years).

I now live 32' above sea level, but I'm not looking forward to the next one that comes around here.

My heart goes out to the people in Harvey's path and I made a donation to the Red Cross.

I also keep my carbon footprint as low as possible, and never-ever vote for a climate change denier. I owe that to my children and grandchildren.

glad to hear from you and to know that you're OK, Josie! You're in Louisiana, right? I wonder how Danny Campo and KajunJeaux made out? I vaguely remember that Danny lives near water

The forum has several active members from Texas, and I'm wondering if they're OK.

Gruverider, TommyC, Steve Young... I don't see where any of them have posted recently

As RHARV already said, if you were affected you won't see any of this in real time, but I hope you will eventually see this thread and report in so we know you're OK.

Now I'm watching the path of IRMA... the models show lots of possibilities,

I remember almost moving to Florida in 2004. In face I made the drive, arriving in 98 degree temps at 9am, saw the apartment I was going to rent, and turned around and came back to Ohio. I want no part of living on the surface of the sun. That was July 1.

In mid August, Hurricane Francis hit. It was "just" a category 2, and it passed north of Clearwater and only sideswiped it, but the place I would have been living had some serious damage by northern boy standards. Not the place for me any time but Jan thru April. I plan to do some RV living down there. From Jan thru April. When spring training is over, I am gone.

The people in Texas (this time), New Orleans when Katrina hit, and Florida really have the worst weather I can imagine. The central plains have tornadoes to deal with, but the width that damage path is nothing compared to the width of a hurricane where whole coasts are affected. Danny C may just be busy working elsewhere. I know he had posted about a 3 show week last week,

Yes, I hope everyone is OK. Danny I know better than the other forum members, so a special shout out for you matey. I notice Danny is posting, so hopefully he's safe and well.

We've just had a Category 10 and Category 8 Typhoon here in Honkers: both within a couple of days of each other. HK was ok, but Macau lost about 8 or 9 people. The head guy in the Weather Bureau had to resign as they were hopelessly badly prepared and some HK journalists were refused entry to Macau as part of the cover up. HK manages these things much better.

(Sadly the guy was killed by the truck.)

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
