Hi,
I've been using BiaB for a while and since last year I'm concentrating on cuban / salsa music. Where can I purchase/get more such styles? The ones that came with the program or can be purchased on the PG Music site are rather limited, I haven't seen more than 5 or so. And they are not on the same CD so I'd have to buy also several with other styles I don't need. Are there third party suppliers of styles or private programmers?

willkommen im Forum! Du schreibst in Englisch, es ist vielleicht eine gute Idee, deine Frage vielleicht zusätzlich auch im englischen Forum zu posten. :-)
Wie auch immer: RealStyles (also die Styles, die mit Realtracks – Aufnahmen echter Musiker – arbeiten) bekommst du aussschließlich bei PGMusic selbst. Für MIDI-Styles gibt es eine sehr gute ergänzende Quelle, Nortonmusic.com, im Paket Style-Disc #26 sind eine Reihe Latin-Styles zusammengepackt.
Ich habe aber eben mal in meinem Band in a Box nachgesehen (Version 2018 UltraPak, also mit allen Style-Paketen) und finde deutlich mehr als nur 5 Salsa- oder kubanische Styles, sowohl Realstyles als auch MIDI-Styles. Eher um die 50 Styles. Welche Band-in-a-Box Version hast du?

You are writing in English, it may be a good idea to post your question in the English forum as well. :-) However: RealStyles (the styles that work with real tracks - recordings of real musicians) are only available on PGMusic itself. For MIDI styles, there is a very good complementary source, Nortonmusic.com. In the Style Pack Disc # 26 are a bunch of latin styles packed together. But I just looked in my Band in a Box (version 2018 UltraPak, so with all style packages) and find much more than just 5 salsa or Cuban styles, both real styles and MIDI styles. Rather around the 50 styles. Which band-in-a-box version do you have?

Hallo Brille Sorry wegen dem Englisch: ich hatte diesen Text effektiv schon in einem englischsprachigen Forum gepostet und hatte vor, ihn nach dem Copy-Paste in dieses Forum zu übersetzten. Leider ist mir dan eine Fehlmanipulation passiert und der englische Text wurde zu früh publiziert und ich konnte ihn nicht mehr korrigieren, da noch nicht genehmigt...  . Dank deshalb vielmals für deine Tipps, die ich ausprobieren werde, v.a. die Style-Disk von Norton. Ich habe BiaB Vers. 2015 (107) und dort finde ich genau 10 Latino/Cuban Styles, aber leider passen die meisten für meine Zwecke nicht (es sind auch 6/8 Afro-Cubanische Rhythmen dabei).

Hast du schon die RealTracks-Listen hier auf der Webseite durchgesehen, auch die Xtra-StylePaks? Da sind auch einige sehr hübsche Salsa- und Latin-Styles dabei, auch etwas modernere E-Salsa. Hör mal in die Demos rein. Du musst dir allerdings wirklich etwas Zeit nehmen, weil du in die Pakete oft erst "reinklicken" musst und nicht auf Anhieb siehst, welche Styles enthalten sind.

Vielen Dank. Ich scheine doch schon etliche Realtracks auf meinem Computer zu haben, aber ich kann mich nicht mehr erinnern, ob sie schon bei BiaB dabei waren, oder ob ich sie nachträglich gekauft hatte (ist schon eine Weile her!).
Mein Hauptproblem ist eher, die installierten Styles einfach und effizient zu finden: wenn man auf den oberen Teil des Style-Butons klickt, werden wahrscheinlich nicht alle Styles angezeigt (unter Latin 23, davon 10 Salsa) und wenn man "Style ab Festplatte öffnen" klickt, ist der gewünschte Stil alles andere als einfach zu finden, da ja nur kurze und oft kryptische Dateinamen angezeigt werden, wie zB. _BLUETAM.STY. Die detaillierte Beschreibung ist erst ersichtlich, wenn der Style geladen wurde.

Wenn Du in StylePicker zunächt auf "Aufheben" klickst, werden alle evtl. gesetzten Filter zurückgestellt. Jetzt kannst du im Feld "Filter Zeichen" (das ist etwas unklar verdeutscht) einen Filterbgriff eingeben, z.B. "Salsa".
Band in a Box zeigt dir dann alle Styles, die diesen Begiff irgendwo im beschreibenden Text, im Genre oder im Dateinamen stehen haben. Das funktioniert eigentlich ganz brauchbar. Allerdings wird der gerade gwählte Style auch immer noch mit angezeigt, selbst wenn der nichts mit Salsa zu tun habt. Wenn du weitere Filter setzt (Tempo, Taktart, Real oder MIDI etc.) lässt sich die Liste dann immer mehr einschränken.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
