you so sly hangin’ out in the fox den
got all you’ll ever need in that fox den
you just shout and they all yell amen

you found a stage to sell your snake oil
It’s so cheap step up ‘n buy that snake oil
keep on dragging us through your night soil

every weekend you fly on a little bird
cruisin’ through hot air on a little bird
you got a tiny fowl spreading your word

now there’s a new sheriff on your trail
Yeah there’s a hellhound on your trail
‘fore long Karma’s gonna bite that fox tail

Wow, this is so good!

And is it so incredibly well mixed. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I have this supernatural ethereal feeling that you worked with another producer on the forum, some type of musical guru, or super genius, who stood by you like a Guardian angel of sonic clarity, and carefully guided you under the light of heaven's bright beams, until the song and mix was pristine, and became an example of absolute and sublime perfection, and wholly acceptable in the presence of the divine.

Don't know why I have that strange feeling--but I just do.

Anyway, this is phenomenal y'all. Great song and stellar mix.

smile

Nice and warm!! Guitar is just right!!!!!!

Nature should not allow me and sublime perfection to be referenced in the same post. I don’t know how that got through. Regardless of the astronomical improbability of that we thank you!

Well, team, you never fail to surprise, you never fail to deliver.

This is no exception. That doesn't mean for a moment that it's not exceptional, actually it really is.

The answer-back lyrics give another dimension to a truly great sound.

Cool, smooth, funky, great.

Was this the song you were referring to the other day? This song came out so good! The vocals are so on point and really bring the song to life. You guys all did a really good job on this one, and thank you for bringing us a genre we don't see too often in the showcase!

Janice, Bud & Peter,

Wow! This is a blast- I agree with all the positive comments above.
I might have missed any reggae you`ve done before but everything about this tells me you must have been around this style before.
Above all the production & performance highs its also a really good write- not sure I get all the lyric references ( well, ok I know what "night soil" is), but who cares, Mr Fox is an interesting character.
Well done- way to have some fun with your songwriting!

Hi there Peter and J&B.

Absolutely COOL.

A super smooth reggae turned soulful by Janice's wonderful voice. Hey Janice, and
what about those fabulous "Rock-Chick" backing vocals? Inspired.

Peter - some very lovely guitar work in there. So effective, so in tune with the feel of
the track. SO professional in it's execution.

Bud - Excellent mix. Clear, but still powerful.

Oh, and great cajon playing too!

Loved the whole thing.

It is so good. I can't put my finger on it either. Each of the instuments and vocals so well defined and so well blended and balanced. Awesome job , Bud, Janice and Peter..

The soulful bluesy vocal laid on top of the rhythmic reggae track really sets this one off into the stratosphere. Excellent tasty guitar work and some beautifully executed cajon playing capture the groove. The inspired hand claps on the three was a nice touch. Perfection on the mix. A nice little side trip to the land of distant genres, Tom

Thanks for all the comments and mentions on Fox Den(just back from a short break). It was great to work again with Janice & Bud - those backing vocals are amazing, and it's always a joy to assist with what will inevitably be another great song.

Thank you Tom. Janice was tickled you mentioned her percussion and we were glad you liked the claps on the 3. We felt that gave it a little more of the reggae groove. Perfection on the mix? Well, coming from you that makes me think maybe I just ougta stop right now!

Cool.
I'd have loved a little more accented reggae guitar rhythm but hey.
The guitar licks reminded me of the augmentation done at Island Studios on Marley's Catch A Fire.
Cool.

Cheers

Thanks Ray. We appreciate it and I'm sure Peter does also re the guitar. Yeah that accented rhythm could be stronger but this is only the third attempt at reggae over the years. I tried to enhance a bit with the claps but if we attempt another I think we'll immerse ourselves in some classic reggae early on smile

Thanks

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
