Hi All,

Here's something folky and a bit vintage sounding - this is called Avalanche.

Summer days
The lost and found
Shades of green
An old ghost town
Voices fading
Old telephones
A changing world
Outside the zone

And I’m so buried
I’m so buried
I’m buried in your avalanche

Pictures hidden
Away in my mind
Somethings going down
The perfect crime
Whispers falling
On the pillow case
Sad blue eyes
Gone without a trace

And I’m so buried
I’m so buried
I’m buried in your avalanche

Bang your drum
East to west
Counter clockwise
This is not a test
Middle of nowhere
In the morning skies
The rain is falling
On the time that flies

And I’m so buried
I’m so buried
I’m buried in your avalanche

Hi rsdean,
I like your voice and how you sing this. Reminds of more simpler times, when people had the spiritual space to explore honest moments and reflect. Thanks for sharing.

Yep, folky and a bit vintage sounding.

Nice mix and vocals, evocative without being specific.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Bob, vintage & folky indeed - though the bass line is a bit busy - you've pulled together an ace arrangement and your intimate vocals work well within it.
I still get that pleasant Rod McKuen vibe.

Bob,
Ethereal lyrics and that smoky texture to your voice which grounds the song nicely. Love that 12-string!
I`m enjoying your creative output-you are bringing us so many good songs.

Really nice work here smile It has a very, very unique quality to it. It definitely has a modern approach to it, and the vocal delivery adds an almost haunted vibe to it. Very interesting lyrics too to help propel the whole thing.

You should be proud of this - thanks for sharing!

I really loved the opening imagery:

"Summer days; the lost and found. Shades of green, an old ghost town. Voices fading. Old telephones. A changing world outside the zone."

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. smile

A little folky with a vintage sound, just the way I like it.

Your vocal was top notch as was your mix but the lyrics took it over the top for me.

Excellent work that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Bob,

What a great vibe this has! Love the vocal; meshes so well with the sound you’ve created. I’m not quite sure I follow the lyrics, BUT I’m not one to think it matters. To me, a song is a mesh of word, lyric, melody, harmony, etc. There’s enough mood and emotion here to make to keep me listening, and the chorus keeps it compelling. Very well done.

Kindest regards,

Deej

Hello, Bob

Yes, your vocals really shine in this tune.
As rayc say, I also think the bass line is a bit busy.
But the total balance is not impaired.
I love the chord progression, the way to use F#.
(G - D - D/C# - Bm - F#)
Such usage of F#, III major against Tonic (D major in this tune) can be also heard in "Let It Be Me".
(The key of "Let It Be Me" is Gmajor, so the said chord is B major.)
One of my favorite usages.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

You've written and performed a song that fits so well in the wheelhouse your voice and style is perfect for. I really enjoyed this. All the elements of the song work together giving the song as a whole, a very cohesive feel. Again, a really enjoyable listen.

"Summer days

Well, that will certainly grab your attention from the get go!

The lyric grabs you and never lets ago. We had to immediately listen again just to focus on the production (which was perfect for the feel of the lyric).

Ethereal was a good word that Robert used to describe the vibe and your vocal performance iced the cake.

Nice!!

"Reflective" is the word that comes to mind. Both the write and the production, vocal, mix...

Smooth. Easy on the ears...

(sounds like something that might be done by a guy who lives in Woodstock... smile )

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
