Starting today when I enter a flat chord, either by typing "b" or with the chord options dialog, the display shows an "!" in place of the flat symbol. Yesterday there was no problem. Couldn't figure out how to attach a screenshot, but hopefully I was sufficiently descriptive. Please help.
Normally you would enter the chord as you mentioned. You can also enter through the Chord Builder by right-clicking on the Chord Cell and selecting from there.
Does that make a difference?
Has there been any Operating System upgrades very recently?
Have you restarted the computer and tried again?

When BIAB starts doing things differently from what it used to, I nearly always return to the factory defaults that's found under the "Options" menu.
I select the upper option first. This one doesn't reset the audio and midi drivers. If that doesn't work, then I use the lower option.
If you decide to try this, make that you save your settings (also under the Options menu). That way you can always get back to where you are now if you need to.
Also, it's very useful if you can advise what version number of the program that you are using. Your operating system and computing environment is valuable to us too, as mentioned.

I vaguely remember seeing this issue a couple years ago, I believe it had to do with font selections in Display Preferences. I haven't been able to replicate it yet today, but will give it another shot next week.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
