Well, if he gets the hang of BBox to anywhere even remotely close to the level he's got with the guitar, then colour me mighty interested!
There's only one thing to do in crisis like this - Sleep on it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BBox 2022 Audiophile, Mac Pro Intel, OSX 10.6.8, 800x600 (TV VGA)

Wow - I thoroughly enjoyed this I'm excited to see the stuff he whips up using Band-in-a-Box! Deryk, A lot of famed guitarists (and musicians) are using BIAB in assorted ways. Tommy Emmanuel said he's not computer savvy enough and lacks time to wade in to learn the software. The software is currently being taught at the prestigious Julliard School of Music; Illinois State University; Green River School of Broadcasting; and many others worldwide. Professor Pat Pattison (Berklee School of Music) is adding it to his courses soon. The software is well-known among music educators thanks, in part, to the efforts of Dr. Kim McCord, creator of the top-rated Special Needs Music Program in the US. Kids are learning the program easily in life.

I was aware some of these institutions and instructors were using BiaB in their curriculum but there are a few that's new to me too. It's a shame this forum does not have the privilege of having any educators that actively use the program contribute to the forum.

It's a shame this forum does not have the privilege of having any educators that actively use the program contribute to the forum. Deryk, It may be a bit too soon to expect results but the group "I Teach Music Technology" has nearly 9,000 music educator members using the software. Unfortunately, they have been on Summer break and just now returning to their classrooms. I fully expect great news soon. The teacher of the Broadcasting Course at Green River College, Bob Rivers, is a longtime friend and the genius behind Twisted Tunes. I'm encouraging him to join these forums. A truism I'm finding; The more fame that they accrue, the more unapproachable they become. That is just a sad fact, not a condemnation. I didn't mean to imply that 9,000 member educators are teaching the software but a goodly percentage. Everyone should know about BIAB by this time. Several assist me in propagation of PG products.

Dr. Kim McCord is a contributing member of The Association for Technology in Music Instruction (ATMI) and, as such, she travels the world performing lectures and seminars. Kim never fails to mention my modest accomplishments with the software while introducing the software and PG Music directly by name.
Dr. McCord is currently Professor Emeritus at Illinois State University and travels extensively to promote music education with emphasis on Special Needs college students and youngsters with physical and/or emotional deficits. She is credited with the formation of the top-rated such program in the US.
I am extremely honored to be listed among her friends.

Music software seems to have a 'taboo' associated with it. Users are reluctant to admit that they are using a 'crutch' to create their music. Especially when being criticized by music purists.
I still recall the arguments over using a drum machine while today such apps are integrated into cell phones. lol
The rapid advance of technology will eventually end such reluctance, we hope.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
