I composed this tune a few days ago and originally had organ backing, but IMO the strings give it much more depth. Story behind the title is explained on youtube. I really like listening to this track - very nice composition!
Forgive me the ignorance, but is it the John Barry who composed music to some of the James Bond movies you are referring to? If yes, then I do understand the connection and your inspiration. He made some very well composed soundtracks but I don't know him very well besides his music for those movies.

Will Hi Will, Yeah John composed a lot of the Band movie scores, plus hundreds of others, one of my favourites being The John Dunbar theme from dances with wolves, out of Africa and many others

one at the shores of Loch
Lomond ever again as she
was subdued by cancer and
so we could never make that

Scottish landscape that I
do love being half Norwegian

Wow - this is stunning, Graham  It has so much character, and is so lush and full. You really do excel at this style of music, and this song certainly showcases that. I can't think of a single thing I'd change. A beautiful and solid tune - thanks for sharing!
