BiaB 2010 Render length problem #57108 01/22/10 10:52 AM Band-in-a-Box for Windows

OP QuipRosen Enthusiast Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 73 FL	Using current BiaB 2010 with Windows XP... I recorded melody and soloist MIDI info -- one instrument each -- into a BiaB arrangement. One chorus, no looping. Total play time 5:44. Then I muted everything but the melody and soloist parts and direct-rendered DXi to WAV. The WAV file is about 120MB. If I "Test WAV" then Windows Media Player reports the total play time is double ... 11:28. The last half of the playback is silent. If I render to MP3 via the "Other" button, taking care to pick a new name so BiaB doesn't merely convert the previous WAV file, Windows Media Player still reports the total play time is 11:28. Same thing happens if I render to WMA. I can use a file splitter to discard the silent material, of course, but what's going on? Any ideas...? -Mel

I'm not sure about your problem, but have you tried leaving a MIDI track unmuted, even if empty? My thinking is related to my experience in SONAR. For example, when I take a BIAB song into SONAR, the program stops at the end of the last MIDI track, and I have to lengthen it a bit so the decay of the last audio notes in other tracks are not cut off. BIAB 2024 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 6.5 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6; Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus Studio 192, Presonus Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
