I wrote a country song, found a singer on fiverr, but wasn't happy with the result. I asked Troy Schiewe if he could sing it. He not only sang the song beautifully, he got under the hood and changed things for the better. Thanks, Troy, for your hard work on this one. I really appreciate it.

We've been together for a long, long time
You think I'm moving on, you believe that it's true
And though for sure it's been a long hard climb
I know I still like the view

I don't want you thinking the end is near for us
Let me take away your doubt
I don't wanna buy a seat upon a greyhound bus
I'm not looking for an out

I know sometimes it's hard to read me,
and I never want you to feel that way
But all you have to do is need me,
And it's for sure I'll never stray

I don't want you thinking the end is near for us
Let me take away your doubt
I don't wanna buy a seat upon a greyhound bus
I'm not looking for an out

Sound like a seventies classic to me.
Nicely done on the production.
Great lyrics that support the fine vocal.
Congrats to both of you.

It's good - there's a tiny bit of Buddy Holly in the chord choices too.
The vocal is solid, clear and free of plosives and aggressive sibilant bits.
LET in the chorus befoere ths olo is a little aggressive in level and catches the reverb or something else that throws it wide.
Very cool country.

Cheers

As you said, classic country. My favorite line:

I don't wanna buy a seat upon a greyhound bus

Catchy chorus - I enjoyed the song! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I would place this song in the late 50's early 60's in the vain of "Tell Laura I Love Her" chord progression.

Super vocal, lyrics, and mix.

Excellent song.

Hello Tunemonger,

Tell Troy he did a very nice job on the vocals.
You could almost see the sorrow drips from his cheeks.
Must have been a hard drive on that Greyhoudbus.

And I agree with Ray that you can hear a bit of Buddy H in the playing of the guitar.
You made a very nice song with this one.
You might consider a pedal steel in it for that Country-mood, but it's no 'must' at all.

Troy`s vocals are very good on this song I can hear myself singing along to this on the road.
The simple arrangement works and the guitar coming in at the end sounds good; like Hans I also thought a pedal steel would help to fill some of the space between verses earlier.
The title is cool and harkens to an earlier era of travel; where I live the Greyhounds, like cheap trains, are long gone.

A very nice country tune, very melodic and engaging.

Enjoyed the vocal and the introduction of the guitar near the end.

Very catchy.

A smooth listen all the way through. Has a sort of Peter, Paul & Mary feel and sound to it. Nicely mixed.

I often wonder what happened to the Greyhound Line. Haven't seen one in years...

A nice listen.

Hi Hans,

I love this pop-folk with a hint of country sound. It's the genre that I keep coming back to over and over again.

You've done a terrific job putting this creating this. From writing to production this is a fine music-making. Your vocals sit very comfortably with this style, too.

I'm glad that I clicked on this one this morning. It was a very pleasant way to start my Sunday morning.

All the best,
Noel

Solid progression with some nice variations too. You and Troy Schiewe work and play well together. A happy lyrical theme delivered with a hint of humor, to my ears, to balance the sweet. I like this a lot.

A great collab that yielded a classic sounding tune.

You mixed a nice choice of tracks to support an
equally nice vocal.

The vocal well delivers the write...sung with a
lot of conviction.

Well done y'all!

Good job Bob & Tony!
Its amazing how we can get still fresh music...
Out of chord progressions that have been around for many years...
It seemingly gives your song...
The pleasant warmth of the old...
And unique feeling of something new!

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments on Greyhound Bus. Thanks again to Troy for singing it and refining the song. And yes, Greyhound is very much still in operation. I don't like to fly, so I know this.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
