Back in December 2009, I purchased the ultrapak + upgrade to BIAB 2007.5. I downloaded the program from the site you sent me but I didn't install it at that time because I received my BIAB Hard disk very quickly. This week I received a new laptop computer and installed the download on it. Unfortunately, several of the real tracks were corrupted and would not install.
The corrupted real tracks were:
RT 7, RT 11-3, RT 13, RT 24-1, RT 27, RT 33-2, RT 34, RT37-2, RT 56, RT 62, RT 72, (also, RT 73 was missing in the download) How can I get the corrupted Real Tracks replaced?

Why not just re-install from the hard disk you received?

But, if you need new download links, you'll need to contact PGMusic to obtain them.

I'd put a 99 percent chance that your hard drive was not properly connected to the new machine. This is a problem due to USB power or lack thereof. I'd start trying other USB cables, short and fat is best. Or make sure you are using the double cable that came with the hard drive and switch the plugs around. If you've back/front options try something else.

I had problems even with the cable shipped with the drive. I ended up finding a cable I've now marked and put away that works. I can tell you that my Blackberry is a benchmark. 90 percent of the cables I own will not charge it from my netbook, about 2 out of the bunch will work, otherwise it says not enough voltage.

By the way this is the USER forum.. you are writing as if you are talking to the company itself. They do visit here, but you should be contacting them on live help. It's maybe too early for that right now, they are on the very west coast of Canada, so the time is like 7 a.m.

Don't make the assumption that the problem is the hard drive, it shouldn't fail at all that soon. I have 3 of them from PG music and all work as long as I have the right cable for the right computer.

I have an HP monster Vista system and there is a connector from the monitor to act as a hub. I plugged a ipod into it this morning and it flickered and every time it did so it opened one of those what do you want to do with this thing window. I had turned around and it was flickering, I look up and there are 20 windows open already, because not enough power was causing it to drop in and out. Plugged it into the front and all is well.

I was going to suggest the alternative, which is if the drive has a power connector, figure out who's drive it is, check the specs, and get an external power wall wart for it. I have one from Radio Shack with about 8 different ends, and a slider for the various voltages. I would wait until Mac told me OK, so when it smoked I could video it...LOL.

Hi John,

Actually, I didnt try to install from the ext hard drive, I was trying to use the Real Track files from the download site. I think I must be missing something here. Is it possible to install from the ext BIAB drive?

Yes.

People may not choose to do this because, if you bought all the Real Tracks, you will need a pretty large hard drive in your computer to install it to. But you can install just the program, and connect the external hard drive to whichever computer you are using, and access the Real Tracks and Real Drums from the external hard drive.

The hard drive has read me files, and allows you multiple ways to install the software. You can install the plug ins, the fonts, and leave everything on the external drive.

You can install the program and leave the Real files on the drive.

You can install the whole works and not use the drive except if you need it to re-install.

Plug in the drive, I'd just install everything if you have room, over top of what's there, and then run the latest build from the support page here so you are up to date.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
