I'm probably very confused about this, but I will just state what I'd like to accomplish... and maybe Forum members could advise me.
I'm a sax player and would like to play along with BiaB, while hearing a sweetened version of myself on the headphones. By "sweeten", I mean adding reverb and equalizer plugins.
Unfortunately, it seems that I can't add these modifiers until AFTER I've recorded an audio track. The plugins then act on that track and change its properties.
What I want to do is just play without recording. Just play with a nice reverb coming through my phones (along with the unmodified BiaB signal). I don't mind opening up a BiaB file in RealBand, if that's the only way I can do this.
BTW, I'm running the sound through a Behringer audio interface, and I also have a small mixer, as well. I unplugged the mixer, but maybe using the mixer hardware is the only way to get what I want. Your thoughts are welcome.

the BIAB manual is huge so i looked this up in the RB manual. pages 260 - 270 ish of the RB manual should tell you how to do it (versions may vary page numbers so skip through till you get to the bit where you can monitor fx ) but you can do this with asio drivers.
i bet there is a similar option in BIAB

Thank you, Bob. That's a good tip. I've looked through the User Guide, but I didn't actually have the right words to describe what I wanted.
"Monitor FX" is a good start. I'll report back when I find something.

Bob -- I looked in the User Guide for a short while, and then opted for an easy fix: hardware!
I just took the output from Behringer audio interface, and routed it to input channels on my little Yamaha mixer, which happens to have reverb as an FX. I then plugged my mike and headphones into the mixer, and voila! With this approach, I can hear a smoothed out version of my own playing over a BiaB tune... without recording anything.
Who knows? Maybe someone will be helped by reading this thread some day. In any event, I appreciate your guidance.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
